@qualitygal A thought occurred to me as I was reading your post. I am happy for those living a long, and hopefully, healthy life. Most of the people listed have financial means beyond the norm of the US population. I wonder if there has even been a study that suggests that wealth promotes longevity. Just a thought.

Well, I would think that those who are financially well off, may have some what of an advantage in that, they have access to the best care any where in the world. But, i'm not sure of how large an effect it is.

Certain diseases are not curable.

On the other hand, mental acuity, i.e. dementia , is not always amenable to care no matter the financial security.

I think living to an advanced age is wonderful, if the mental state is sound.

All in all, quality of life is an important detail here in all cases.and money does not guarantee that.

My Dad is 90 and still lives at home. He and Mom were married 64 years when Mom passed. I do a lot for him...some cooking, driving, doctor appts, errands, shopping, etc. But he still cooks, does his laundry, plays computer games, and reads multiple books every week.
