Agree, beautiful film  Sometimes airs on TCM.

I always remember the scene of a run on the local bank, when Miss Dove, instead of panicking, calmly deposits her paycheck. 

For movie trivia fans, Olivia de Haviland was first offered the role,  but she turned it down.

I like where the 2 men made a chair of their arms to get her to the doctors.  Talk about respect!!

Such a heartwarming film. I still get chills as the town gathers to hear the outcome of Miss Dove's surgery.
