I first read the book in 1969, and I saw the movie in 1972. Several actresses auditioned for the part of Scarlett, but I think Vivien Leigh was the perfect choice.  And the soundtrack was so haunting.

One of my favorite books.  Even before the movie came out, when reading the book, I could picture the scenes in my mind.  Written by a great storyteller.

@Oznell I didn’t realize it either. I remember my dad telling us he worked as an usher at the theatre so he could see Gone With the Wind. 

We can’t wait to see it on the big screen. It’s the 28th.

Some of the cinematography really needs the huge screen to capture what was happening.
