Re: Golden Globe Awards - Kind of Boring

I am the poster who wondered how someone could criticize a show someone only saw part of.... what I meant was.... I can understand someone say.... I didn't like it so I changed the channel.... but to compare it to other award shows.... it just seems that one would have to see most of it to really be able to criticize it.... but that is only my opinion.... and everyone has their own opinion....

Re: Golden Globe Awards - Kind of Boring

game, what you say makes sense. I think it's just as matter of perspective though.

Speaking for myself. I never sit and watch an awards show without flipping through the channels. I find it boring to watch a group of people give themselves awards and then stand up and thank everyone and anyone.

That in mind, I guess I can't remember any awards show I watched from beginning to end. I still feel like I can say what I do and don't like.

I think (I'm guessing for others) what we're trying to say is that at least other shows had some form of entertainment. This made them them more palatable.

Re: Golden Globe Awards - Kind of Boring

I watched, and didn't find it to be boring at all. I watch the Golden Globes every year. It's one of my favorite award shows to watch. I later watched another show on TV, and heard some people mention they thought it was boring, too, and that surprised me. It's just like anything, though - different outlooks from different people. I usually DVR a show, wait 20 or 30 minutes to start watching, so I can fast forward through commercials. I love listening to ALL of the speeches, as I find something in every speech to be interesting, moving, etc. For me, I don't want to just see who won an award. The speeches are a big part of it to me. Just my opinion, though. We're all different, and have different likes and dislikes. I actually like the Golden Globes more than the Academy Awards. I do like watching the Academy Awards, but just like the Golden Globes more.

Re: Golden Globe Awards - Kind of Boring

I rarely miss the Golden Globes or the Academy Awards. I like seeing the actors clothed in their "real" personalities rather than the characters they portray. Also, they drink at the Golden Globe so they can sometimes be a little more "real" and are unintentionally funny or silly.

I think the only year I turned it off was when Ricky Gervais hosted the show. That was not fun for me.

That's what's good about this TV forum. It's interesting to read other people's posts and she what other's like, dislike or what they think is going to happen.....or should happen.

Thanks (from me) to all of you for joining in. I really enjoy reading everyone's post.

I think everyone here respects each other's opinions and posts.
