This show has taken a major turn for the worse. Good grief! I have commented about Vampire Diaries that I can't figure out their target audience (for different reasons). This show is all over the place. I love the music. I just can't stand the way they're constantly trying to cram their 'messages' down my throats.
I think if someone was sitting in the same room with me, they'd say, "Annabelle, your mouth is open"! Really.
I remember their first season it was appropriate for young teens, now I don't know who'd want to watch it! I FF over most of it.....OK, 3/4 of it.
My youngest daughter was in every show put on by her high school and she used to watch it, but she long ago gave it up ("Are they for real Mom").
It's just too bad that they have the need to carry their message so far over the top. It could probably/maybe help some young people trying to find their way. That show is terrible!

I didn't think tonight's show was so message driving as the previous two were. Or, maybe I've become immune. Kind of nice focusing on the new kids for a bit. I stopped watching for a few years, tuning in only off and on. But, I'm sticking with this final season - I'm enjoying them being back in Ohio.
The one thing I HATE though are the couples. I'm not going to explain this well - it's the fact the original kids are still with the people they went to school with. That the fans are all pushing for that. For some reason, I'm okay with Brittany and Santana, but I really wanted Kurt to go out on his own and experience life. I hate that they are setting up Rachel to be with Sam. How Quinn is still with Puck when they come and visit. It's so unrealistic and just, to me, makes the fan base think that you will meet the love of your life when you are in high school, or else there is no hope for you. Not sure why, but that is what really annoys me. Yes, it's silly!

I think you explained it very well Alter. Makes sense, what you said. I do agree that tonight's show wasn't anywhere near (not even close) message driven as the other shows were. Nothing wrong with reinforcing messages and telling kids (I don't think kids are watching this show) but anyway, they just go so far overboard, it takes away the enjoyment of the music.
I think they stero-type these people way too much. I have several family members who are g, a, y. No one in our family cares. They run the entire gambit from knowing forever to not knowing until many boyfriends, etc. They're happy right now and that's what we all care about. They don't like shows like this stero-typing them. I'm always curious and have questioned them about things, of that they agree.
Ever since Bruce who's it (Kim's step-dad) has been going through his stuff it's on many shows. Again, I feel like it's stuck in these shows.
I think this is too bad because perhaps it might help a young person, but I highly doubt they watch it (saying it's too 'cheesy').
It's almost as if they are saying, "We're going out doing what we want and to #$%^ with the audience. I also agree with what you said about the fan base wanting to see couples together. I also agree with what you said about Kurt.
Did you know Chris Coffer (sp) is an accomplish writer? My granddaughter is 11 years old. She's very smart and reads on an adult level. Yet she loves reading his books. I usually take my grandchildren to the book store and let them buy some books. She goes to his books. They are written for young teens. She said she likes his books because he doesn't treat his audience like they're stupid. Anyway, I'm surprised he's still on here. They must have offered him a lot of money.
