Girlfriend's Guide To Divorce on Bravo

Does anyone watch this show? I LOVE this show. It shows how the 'one percent' lives (similar but different).

It shows the good, bad and wonderful about being in love, being love and WANTING to be loved and in love.

The actress (well all of them really) are way too skinny. I can't help thinking, "why can't they gain a few pounds. They all look like they're annorexic." However, I guess that's the way most of them really look, so it's realistic.

It's sad (the breakup of a marriage is a death) but it also shows the funny parts (the young boy is over the top strange and her dates are also over the top strange).

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else watches it and what they think of Abby Jake.

Anybody?

Re: Girlfriend's Guide To Divorce on Bravo

Finally, Shelbelle! I've been waiting for someone to post they watch the show. I think there is one more left in the season.

I love the guy who plays her boyfriend. Although I've always loved the guy who plays her husband too.

What did you think of the last episode? It gives some insight into these super-expensive schools these kids go to. Did you hear them drop Ben Affleck's name on who did the video for the school last year?

What was your favorite episode? There are so many amazing female actors on this show. That's one of the things I like about it. I never cared for Janeane Garofalo. I changed my mind after seeing her on this show.

I hope she comes back next season. This show goes to show that no one has a perfect life. That's what makes it appealing to me. I've always known that, but it's nice to see.

Annabelle, so very sorry to disappoint you but I have never seen the show, only the promos with both of these stars in it, I was merely commenting on their names, again I apologize if I misled you. Shel

Re: Girlfriend's Guide To Divorce on Bravo

I've watched it since the very first show! I thought I was the only one who watched, never saw this Forum before.

I have to say, that I am literally on the fence about this show. I'll admit it, I'm a RHOBH fan so I just stick around to watch this right after. I like the actress who plays Abby, I like the husband, but I think it's Jo who steals the show. She's got the best lines and delivers them well. To be honest, what annoys the life outta me are the kids. I think the show would be better with more upbeat kids. Teens are teens, I get it, but I think the girl is so sullen and she's just not nice. The boy I find absolutely awful. For a kid his age, I think his behavior and lines should be more mature. The friend, Phoebe, also gets on my nerves yet I don't really mind Jeanene Garofalo's character (can't recall her character's name). The school also irks me with all that phoniness. I've asked myself a million times why I watch if so much makes me crazy!! I don't know why, but I do!! Can't say I love it, but I do watch so I guess I do like it. It's like a 6 on my scale of 1-10.

Re: Girlfriend's Guide To Divorce on Bravo

Barbi- I ask myself why I watch a lot of these shows! {#emotions_dlg.blush} I'm glad you found us. We don't usually apologize for the shows we watch (well, sometimes) but it's fun to comment on them and it's interesting when we think we're the only ones who watch a show or the only ones who think one way or another and someone else posts something similar.

That's what I think is the fun part of this forum. I also like that we agree to disagree and not argue about this or that.

I think the show is trying to give insight (good or bad) about some of these spoiled children of the rich and famous. That little boy is disturbing. His hair is terrible. No one seems very concerned that he has a weird invisible friend who he blames and gets away with it.

(What did you think about him pe.eing in the tent? I thought it was stupid.

Re: Girlfriend's Guide To Divorce on Bravo

I'm so glad you mentioned that boy's hair. I'd take scissors to it. Is it the same boy who's on that new show, The Slap? I'm not sure, but it sure does look like him, at least from behind, in the promo.

The maturity thing that I mentioned earlier...the peeing thing is an example of what I meant. A kid that age just doesn't do those things. Right, the imaginary friend and that behavior when the house was cracking. The daughter always seems so angry and depressed. I wish that they would have had these same characters in a very normal environment, maybe even trying to make ends meet. All the new shows have people living in the laps of luxury. Maybe I'm just imagining this because this show is on the heels of my RHOBH!! Did you hear last night, Abby pays the hubby $10,000 a month!!!! Personally, I can't relate to any character on the show, but it is mindless and a good escape for an hour, right??!

Next week is the finale. We'll have to dissect it on Wednesday!!! Hee hee!!

Re: Girlfriend's Guide To Divorce on Bravo

Barbil- I caught that payment amount too! I guess they'll go on and get divorced (the show is called ....guide to divorce! Ha!

I noticed too that everyone (except Shameless I'm watching now) has tons of money on TV these days!

I have to admit I enjoy peeking into the lives of these very rich people. I bet most of it is based on truth.

I agree it's a good escape. I stopped apologizing a long time ago to family and friends about my TV watching. My late husband used to tease me but he didn't really care. When he was home we watched the same shows.

NOTE: That was 10 1/2 years ago. TV has REALLY changed since then. We didn't have cable. I didn't get it until after he died. I used to read a lot back then, not so much anymore (too many shows to watch).

Ever watch Episodes on Cable. I recommend it. Look it up (it's only 1/2 hour).

I keep thinking about that crack in Abby's wall. I remember her brother was overseeing getting it fixed. I also remember the box they found. That was kind of just stuck there. I didn't like the way it seemed to break up the flow of the show. I guess it was so they could remember 'the old days'.

So, what do you think of her boyfriend? I think he's beautiful. I wish she wasn't so skinny. I know those rich women you see on TV usually are thin, but it's hard to see her in those nighties and soooo skinny.
