Newsflash to GH: No one hikes with no sleeves in upstate NY in March. This is a recording...

Did everyone enjoy Alexis' assuming the position on the floor that we all take when we turn an episode on? Another ten for audience imitation.

Who dressed Brick as the Easter Bunny? Fess up!

Who paid for the Kidney health promo? If the writing is pay for play, we got money to spend here! 💰 Does ABC accept EZ Pay?

And now Jordan has caught the personality switch disease. See what happens when we let Drew run wild?

I almost wonder if MB is done and leaving us while Kristina takes over the business with Jason.

I just watched yesterday's episode this morning. First, Steven A Smith: why is he even there? He is not a good actor and he already has a day job. I have heard him shooting his mouth off on talk shows about various things, and I am not impressed because he contradicts himself, but isn't he a sports commentator? My advice is to stay in his own lane and leave the acting to the professionals, such as they are. My apologies to those who seem to love his character.

I see in today's episode, Brick made a threatening remark to Jordan's love interest. Are we going to be given a bunch of dirt about him so that his character is besmirched? Can't we have one character who doesn't have a deep dark secret?

Is Kristina going to hire a hit man to off Ava. The stunning comments she made at the gravesite would suggest that, unless she makes the kill herself. The girl is delusional and can't seem to come to terms with the actual truth, which is that Ava did NOT push her, and the whole reason she barged into Ava's place is how the whole tragedy was set in motion.

On to Ava: this character keeps shooting herself in the foot. She had a chance to show Sonny she wanted to help him, at least for Avery's sake, and instead, she tries to blackmail him, or worse, let him perhaps die. She is another one who hasn't paid for murder. She and Sonny are cut from the same cloth. If the writers want to create a real liaison of evil, they should marry them to each other.

It wouldn't surprise me if Maurice Benard is ready to retire. I know he has been a popular character in the show's history, but quite frankly I am bored with the same old same old with him. He used to put in some stellar performances. I haven't seen one of those in forever. I have never really warmed to the gangster character of Sonny and the attempts to make him a good guy. They don't have to kill him off. They can just send him to his private island for rest and recreation in a no stree retirement. In real life, I believe he has a blog where he has guests from the Soap world. I saw one with Kimberly Mccullough.

As for the health promo, I was happier to see that instead of some of the other ridiculous scenes we have to watch. If it helps one person to become proactive about their health, it's worth it. Remember the breast cancer story line with Monica and I think her name was Page?

I finished watching yesterday's episode last night. Did anyone else find it strange that at the end the cameras panned out to a picture of Michael and Morgan in Sonny's office. Could this mean Morgan is still alive and might also be behind the starting of the fire that hurt Michael by mistake? I may be reading too much into it and wonder if anyone else feels the same.🤔

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Please, no more returns from the dead. This has been overdone in the Soap world and not even within the realm of reality in real life. Wouldn't it be lovely if all of our real life losses could actually return to us with open arms. Sadly, it's the circle of life. People die and they live on in our minds and hearts, not in some prison where a villain has held them captive. Rarely does anyone live through a bomb explosion in a car. My thought about the pictures at the end of the show had more to do with a reminder of what a danger Sonny is to his own children. And why is Sonny heading off to Toronto for this confrontation? Ithought he was suppose to maintain a stress free existence before this surgery.

INTERVIEW

GH Exclusive: Finola Hughes On The 'Perfect Storm' That Led Anna To Arrest Valentin

Soap Opera Digest: What is your take on what it was like for Anna to put those handcuffs on Valentin?

Finola Hughes: There was a moment, right before it was going to happen, where I was thinking to myself that Anna would probably prefer to arrest him now, before he does something. And then the other portion of it is, if she doesn’t arrest him this time, her integrity is just going to be shot completely — and not just to herself, but to the DA, Robert, and to the people in the town, and to the mayor and to the WSB. There are just so many people that she needs to make good on her word to. I feel that this was the kind of moment, the perfect storm, when she had to act. But I did feel that maybe Anna was concerned that he was going to do something worse.

Digest: So she’s thinking, “He’s safer in Steinmauer.”

Hughes: Yeah, in a way. At least I know where the ****** he is! But people do escape from this maximum security prison all the time. I can only sort of think that it’s similar to being put in prison at The Hague, where you are definitely never getting out. But apparently, people do!

Digest: Anna and Valentin broke up last year and shortly thereafter, he went on the run. It felt like a lot of things happened abruptly to upend their relationship. How do you imagine Anna has processed it thus far?

Hughes: It did happen rather abruptly, and I think it might have been more fun to have some more scenes leading up to it, you know? That would have been good. I’m all for more scenes with James Patrick [Stuart, Valentin], frankly! I think Anna has been processing this for a while. I think from the first time that she helped Valentin and Charlotte escape that she’s almost been regretting that move, regretting that decision of hers, because it puts her in bad stead with Jason, because he knows how it went down. Robert would never want to know that she had allowed Valentin to escape, even if she explained it was so that he could be with his daughter. And then also, it was really difficult to speak to the mayor, Laura, about the fact that she helped her granddaughter escape and now she’s missing. And then when Lulu wakes up [from her coma], there’s somebody else that she’s kind of in debt to, in a way. So I would say, unfortunately, this was Anna’s way of cleaning up her mess. And really, I can’t imagine how else it would end other than her having to do something like this: make good on her word, bring the girl back.

Digest: Even though Valentin is in prison, he’s alive, so the door is certainly open for his return. Do you feel like there is any unfinished romantic business between these two characters?

Hughes: Oh, yeah. Always. I do feel that this is one of those relationships where it’s like the person you’re not supposed to have an affair with that you constantly keep going back to. I do feel that he is somebody like that — one of those bad boys that you just can’t help liking a lot. I do wonder if he’s useful to Brennan, even though they have a fairly combative relationship. They have been useful to each other in the past, and I’m wondering if Brennan would find him useful in the future. That’s one way that I [could see Valentin returning], to deal with unfinished business with Brennan, and Anna might find herself on the tail end of that. I do feel like there’s always that sort of romantic attraction between the two of them and it doesn’t seem to dissipate. It’s been decades! I think they liked each other then, back in the day, and then it came to fruition, so I don’t know [that it’s over for good].

Digest: What were you playing in Valentin’s last scenes as she watched him say good-bye to Charlotte? Was that excruciating for Anna?

Hughes: For her to watch him say good-bye to Charlotte was hard, because she can’t really visit him at Steinmauer. I mean, she could, but I wouldn’t take a teenager there! I don’t think that Anna was feeling that this was the end. I think that Anna wanted to make her point that he had her, that it was working, and he just pushed it too far, and he just couldn’t leave it alone — whether it was greed, whether it was just the mere fact that he can do certain things, whatever it was that made him continue to exploit and outwit other people, he just overplayed his hand. And I think that really rankled Anna because if he had just been able to be content with where things were, then they could have had everything. But he wasn’t.

Digest: As James put it to me, ultimately, the great tragedy of Valentin is that as much as he longs for a lasting romantic connection, he’s ultimately just a little too dysfunctional and keeps falling back on old patterns.

Hughes: Right, and if you consider his father [Victor Cassadine] and that he’s a Cassadine and what he’s come from… He did try to join the ranks of the WSB but yet he couldn’t help himself and he started up Pikeman and he continued to dabble [in nefarious things] because he’s so smart that he feels he can continue to dabble and not toe the line, and I think that’s the same in a relationship. I feel like Anna is able to have relationships. She has fairly stable attachments, I think they call it. She doesn’t have messy attachment issues. Maybe [laughs]. I think James is right that Valentin just can’t help himself, and I think Anna said it right there in that scene — “You had me. You did have me.” I thought that was a good line.

Digest: Well, as I said to James earlier this week, I think there are a lot of sad “Vanna” fans out there. I think a lot of viewers saw this as a pairing that could go the distance.

Hughes: I don’t know why they nipped it in the bud. It really could have worked quite well. I don’t know — some people remain in relationships for a long time on soaps, and then others, they just keep chopping up. I’m not sure. It’s gonna be a long and windy day before Anna finds somebody else that ticks all those boxes! Plus, James and I just worked so easily together. He’s an incredibly easy scene partner for me. He’s so prepared, he comes with ideas, he’s so prepared, he’s very thoughtful, very emotional, surprising — all the things that I love. And he has a really great point of view. He is a really great person to work with. I enjoy working with him a lot, obviously!

Re: General Hospital 🏥 March 2025 - Spoilers Included

‘General Hospital’ Celebrates Monica Quartermaine and Its 62nd Anniversary

There is cause for celebration at GH on April 1. The ABC daytime soap is commemorating its 62nd anniversary (both the show and the fictional building itself) and the opening of the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Wing. Though the death of Leslie Charleson— who played Monica since 1977, and died in January — will be addressed on the show at a later time, her character’s contributions as a doctor will be honored during Tuesday’s episode.

“There’s more tribute to come for Monica,” says executive producer Frank Valentini. “But the opportunity presented itself that we would have the anniversary of the hospital be on the anniversary of the show. So it’s a little meta, but I think it’s great. And then to give the hospital a reason to celebrate, that’s how we came up with the the new wing for Monica, which is a really beautiful set. It’s pretty incredible.”

The set of which he speaks is an “airy” atrium, which Valentini says gives a “more indoor and outdoor” look and feel to the show, something he plans on carrying further into the summer. “We’re always indoors, so I’m always looking for ways to challenge the production designers to figure out a way to open it up or bring us at least partially outdoors. That’s why Sonny’s house and the Quartermaine solarium came about, because they’re very open. They have big exteriors.”

Throughout the April 1 episode, there’s also a nod to the heart to the relationships in Port Charles — including the one between Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Laura (Genie Francis), as seen in the exclusive clip below — to those who have come through the hospital doors, both as staff and as patients, that have left behind loved ones. Many are remembered on a memorial wall in the new wing.

Valentini feels it’s important to honor and acknowledge the characters (and the actors who’ve played them) like Monica (Charleson), Alan (Stuart Damon), Bobbie (Jackie Zeman), Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) and others. “As much as we always want to go boldly into the future, I think you can’t go into the future without understanding where you’ve come from, or what the past has taught you,” he says. “And if there’s anything that it’s taught us, it’s that the hospital is a very interesting and exciting place for story to be told, and the lives and the stakes in the hospital are so much bigger. So adding something that’s new, but also having it honor someone who’s been there for a while, it feels complete.”

Don't tell me that Kristina doesn't know what her archenemy's car looks like so she cuts Ric's breaks thinking it is Ava's car. Gimme a break writers.

Also gimme break about Drew having a sleazy councilman tear down a crypt with bodies in it.  Wouldn't that ruin both their political careers?

Re: General Hospital 🏥 March 2025 - Spoilers Included

GH RECAP FRIDAY, MARCH 28th

Sasha meets with Maxie at the bistro. Sasha shows her the photo from her sonogram, and also reveals she decided to stay on at the Quartermaines. Maxie says if she changes her mind, there is always space for her and the baby at her house. Sasha says she’ll need her job, and while she can support her and her child, she’s sorry she made problems for Maxie’s ability to take care of her kids.

Sasha brings up her blowing up Deceptions deal with Sidwell and tells Maxie that she shouldn’t let her issues with him stop her from doing business with Sidwell. She says she overreacted, Sidwell didn’t mistreat her, and it was all her mother’s fault. She tells Maxie not to let this affect what’s best for Deception. Maxie says she’s given her a lot to think about.

At the hospital, Tracy asks Liz if Stella is still here, but Liz says she left. Liz asks how Monica is doing. Tracy says she is having a good day. Tracy just hopes she doesn’t find out that Drew plans to move her husband from his final resting place. Liz can’t believe it as Monica was the one who accepted Drew into the family Tracy says Monica is in agreement with her for once, and Drew is no longer a member of their family.

Ezra Tries to Tear Down the Quartermaine Crypt

At the Quartermaine crypt, Ezra has arrived with a sheriff and a construction foreman who has a bulldozer. Trina asks what is going on? She rents the apartment above the garage and is trying to study, but they are making noise. Ezra explains they are here to demolish the crypt.

Gio and Emma show up, and Ezra serves them the legal papers ordering the demolition. Gio says he’s not a Quartermaine, none of them are. Monica owns the property, so she has to be served. Emma says the family is fighting this, but Ezra says nothing, and no one can stop this building from coming down.

Back at the hospital, Yuri calls Tracy about the bulldozer ready to tear down the crypt. He holds the papers that he was just served.

Back at the crypt, the sheriff says he has served Yuri the paperwork but feels it’s still not legal as he isn’t the owner of the house. Ezra doesn’t care and tells the construction crew to get started. Emma tells Gio and Trina to stall and runs off. Trina begins recording on her phone, and she and Gio point out there are family remains in there, and unearthing them is not just unethical but a health violation.

The construction foreman says he doesn’t deal with dead bodies and walks off. Gio says he is a registered voter and Catholic and believes his constituents would be horrified by his treatment of the Quartermaine family members’ remains. Ezra says there is no point in delaying this.

Suddenly, Emma returns and chains herself to the crypt door and says they’ll tear this building down over her dead body. Ezra tells the sheriff to arrest her. Tracy arrives and threatens to call her friend, the judge, and report the sheriff to him if he lays a hand on that young lady. Emma meanwhile tells Trina to make sure she records everything and tells Gio to call her grandmother.

Ezra again orders the sheriff to arrest Emma, but Tracy says if the sheriff goes near her that she will have his badge. Tracy sits next to Emma and symbolically chains herself to the young woman using her lengthy rope necklace. Tracy tells Trina, who is recording everything, that this has nothing to do with protecting the environment and is about Congressman Cain’s vendetta against her family.

Anna finally arrives and is stunned to see Emma chained to the mausoleum and asks why. Emma says she’s fighting for what is right. Ezra asks Anna if she is going to do her job and remove her granddaughter and Tracy. Anna asks for the demolition order, reads it, and says to fetch the bolt cutters. Anna tells Emma and Tracy she’s sorry, but the law is the law.

Drew Makes a Surprising Offer to Kai

In Drew’s office, he’s signed Kai up for more speeches for the sports initiative. He tells Kai that people love him and he has a lot more to offer than football. Kai notes that’s good as he’s never going pro. Drew asks if he’s sure about that. Kai tells him his injury prevents it, and Trina’s helped him come to terms with it. Drew asks if there was a way to play football safely, would he take it? Kai would. Drew explains he knows a lot of specialists around the world, including one who might be able to help him. Kai says he doesn’t have the money or resources for such a doctor, but Drew does. Kai asks why he’d help him. Drew says he sees he has a bright future ahead of him. Kai thinks he must want something in return, but Drew doesn’t. Drew assumes Trina and Curtis have said things about him, but he should hear his side of the story first.

Lucky Tells Lulu of His Plans

Lulu drops by the closed Charlie’s to see her brother, seeing he spends all his time at Liz’s and she hardly sees him. He reveals they are planning a trip back to New York, and he was hoping Aiden could stay with her and mom. Lulu asks if he’s sure he wants to do this. Returning to a place that was special to them can be risky. If he can’t recreate the magic of that first trip, it may tarnish the memory that means so much to them.

Lucky says this trip isn’t about reclaiming the past, but the possibilities of a future. Lulu asks if he’s hoping for a future with Elizabeth. He admits he would like a future with her, but he also knows she might not want to take another chance on him. All he can do is put himself out there and have hope. She says he’s braver than she is, and she doesn’t know what she wants. However, she knows mom would love having Aiden stay with them.

Kristina Makes a Deadly Mistake

Kristina pounds on Ava’s door. Ric, having just made up with Alexis, hides in another room as he doesn’t want to ruin his truce with Kristina’s mother. Ava lets Kristina in, and suggests she not stand near the window. Kristina can’t believe she’s making a joke about her baby’s death. Kristina then asks who she thinks she is dragging her father back to court over Avery. Ava says it’s clear Sonny is in no condition to take care of their daughter. She also points out one of Sonny’s enemies bombed his house, and Avery could have been there. She argues that Avery is better off with her and will ask for an increase in child support to help take care of her.

Kristina can’t believe she would use her daughter this way. Ava says as a mother, she’ll do anything to protect her child, something she wouldn’t know about, as Kristina’s not a mother. Ava says it could have been Avery who found Sonny on the floor, and if his enemies know of his condition, it could put Avery in danger should they come after her father. Kristina says it’s too late for Morgan, and too late for Adela, but she won’t let Ava take her father from her. She says she will stop her!

Kristina storms out, and Ava tells Ric he was a witness to Kristina threatening her. Ric admits Kristina’s reaction seems to indicate Sonny’s condition is serious, but his brother is never more dangerous when his back is against the wall.

They are interrupted when Liz calls Ric. The nurse has the information he wants to help Portia. When she hears Ava in the background, she offers to drop the papers off at Ava’s place. Once off the phone, Ava asks what that was about. Ric explains Liz is helping him with Portia’s defense. Ava accuses Liz of using him. She cares about GH more than Portia, and he has betrayed attorney-client privilege by bringing Liz in. He’s given her information that Liz could use against him. Ric says Liz would never hurt him, and she only wants to help Portia.

Meanwhile, Kristina goes to the parking garage, finds Ava’s parking space, and then locates some bold cutters on a tool rack. She has no idea it’s Ric’s car in Ava’s space.

Back at Ava’s apartment, Liz arrives at the door with the papers for Ric. She doesn’t want to interrupt whatever is going on here and leaves. Ric rushes after her to explain, and Ava yells at him to take his time coming back.

Kristina heads to Charlie’s, and Lucky asks where she’s been as it’s almost time to open. Kristina explains she had a huge fight with Ava, lost it, and made a mistake. However, she’s going to fix it and rushes out. Lucky chases after her, wondering what she’s done.

Kristina speeds off in her car and tries to call Ava. Ava, at home, sips a martini and ignores her call.

Meanwhile, Ric gives Liz a ride home as Aiden has her car, and he wasn’t going to let her call a ride share given her help. Liz asks if she can do anything else to help Portia. Ric asks if she really wants to help Portia, or is she just trying to get information out of him. Liz can’t believe what he’s accusing her of, and then tells him to slow down. Ric says he can’t, and something is wrong with his brakes. The car veers off the road…

Sonny and Jason Want Answers

Sonny and Jason are flying to Toronto to find the hitman who planted the bomb. Sonny intends to get the name of the man who hired him and make him pay for Michael’s pain. Jason asks what he will do when he finds Silinski. Honestly, Sonny doesn’t know.

In Toronto, Silinksi comes home to his apartment and finds Sonny sitting in a chair, aiming a gun at him. Sonny orders him to slide his gun over, which he does. He knows he is the man who bombed his home and injured his son. He will allow him to live if he tells him who hired him.

The hitman tells Sonny he can’t help him, as he never knows the client, and he’s paid by cryptocurrency. Sonny says nobody would take a job without knowing the details. The hitman tries to run, but Jason is at the door. Sonny again demands to know who hired him. Silinski says he’ll be taken out if he gives them a name. Sonny says he’ll at least have a chance to disappear, but if he doesn’t tell him, then he’ll shoot him.

On the next General Hospital,

Lucky arrives at the scene of an accident  and a cop says they are doing everything they can to help her.

To your points and I want to take them a step further.  First, once again like at the Metro Court, exactly why did Kristina barge her way in to Ava's apartment?

Second, of course she would know Ava's car, but I'll accept since she is enraged and frankly "out of her mind" she sabatoges said vehicle.  Third, why is there a mechanics tool bag in said garage? Fourth, I'm about to hire Kristina as my personal mechanic since she knows exactly which cable to cut to eliminate the brakes.  That's a lot to swallow at one time.

Exactly, sleazy or not, the "bodies" would have to have been removed/relocated before any "tearing down" of the structure itself.  Ewww, can't imagine any state that would allow bodies at eternal rest to just be "plowed under".

Re: General Hospital 🏥 March 2025 - Spoilers Included

Ok peeps I'm putting it out there...I'm a bit disappointed in "my" Yuri.  His phone call to Tracy was fine, BUTTT I expected my hunk to go directly to the site and join in with the protest.  To do something and/or to say something.  Missed opportunity writers...tsk, tsk.  Just watching him tower over Councilman Ezra would have made my day.

Sonny:  No dimples; just snark.  So who do you think hired Mr. Solinsky? Lots of candidates out there.  I'm still clinging to Sidwell (unless a new character is introduced).  Just my thoughts that Sidwell wants Sonny's territory, especially the pier.

A new lawyer to join Diane and Alexis:  Oh, gee, could it possibly be Marco?  Lucas' Miami hookup?  I would be shocked...not   LOL

Lucky/Liz:  Car accident, brakes failed, Liz in serious condition...NYC weekend cancelled.  Here we go folks.

And just wait until Molly learns (somehow; maybe Lucky suspects) that her sister cut the brake line on her father, Ric's, car and caused the accident.  Can we say, no way to the "sister bonding"?
