I am assuming for professional reasons Marcos does not want to share a last name with his suspected criminal father. And he certainly doesn't want his mother's name since she did not accept him as a gay man.

I was surprised to see Esme nominated for an Emmy, because she's been gone so long. Does anyone know what timeframe these are for, is it all of 2024?
BTW I think she deserves the nomination..... That was a great character.

@Travone I looked it up and the Daytime Emmys for 2025 eligibility period is January 2024 through December 2024.
And the Guest category means the following:
To be eligible for the Daytime Emmy Awards in the Guest Performer category in 2025, an actor must have been on their Daytime Drama for two years or less, be onscreen in a speaking role with at least one multi-episode story arc, and have no prior Daytime Emmy acting nominations. There is no age restriction.
ETA: I am going to guess that the no prior Emmy nominations refers to the regular acting categories since Alley Mills (Heather) already won for guest performer which obviously means she was previously nominated.

Daytime Emmy reactions from GH stars. The show is in October.
āStrong group of women Iām honored to be among!ā
āI cannot believe this. Thank you, Daytime Emmys, and thank you thank you thank you, GH."
āAlways grateful for a sweet nod, however, cheers to all my fellow actors nominated or not. This acting medium is not for sissies. Daytime television actors and crew work without a net. 130 pages of dialogue, 60 or more scenes with only one quick rehearsal a day. We shoot sometimes up to eight hour shows in five days. Proud to be a member of this community.ā
āShining bright and feeling so much love today. Thank you all for the congratulatory messages ā your love and support mean so much to me ā itās such a fun ride. Iām honored to stand next to the incredible women in this category and so grateful to be a part of the daytime world.ā

I woke up with this thought in my head this morning. LOL
I wonder if Chad Duell is kicking himself when he saw who they replaced him with?

@KBEANS You know I had seen the new Michael on Y&R and thought he was a good actor, but this kid is phenomenal! Although he needs to kick the JJ tears to the curb. It's a talent to cry on cue, but let's keep it controlled.
I just saw a post that Kirsten Storms (Maxie) did this morning in which she addressed the CD probably feeling "regret." She said that CD did not renew his contract so GH was not obligated to keep his role open like they are apparently doing for her and CD was very happy to move on.
It's interesting that some people take the gamble to move on from soaps. It seems you either make the transition or kick yourself for not keeping a good thing in hand. Although I would bet real money CD had some personal problems he was forced to address.
Sorry, Maxie. I base that on never showing up for his pivotal scenes. Once I understand. Twice, I raise an eyebrow. Three times, there is an issue, Whether that was anxiety or other things, CD needed to be replaced and go work on himself.
Welcome Rory!

It's interesting to see if the ADA will have any screen time with Jenz Sidwell. In real life the 2 actors are married. Perhaps they already had screen time, and I forgot it.
Also, speaking of actors and their real lives. The actor Cody (Josh Kelly) was an Army Ranger, serving in several tours prior to acting. There was a rumor that he might be leaving the show because he wasn't shown on the end credits awhile back. I hope he stays. His sense of humor on the show is entertaining!
@Julie_23 I love Cody and his character. He is quite handsome as well. I really hope he stays on and gets a major story line.

@amyb wrote:Stopping today's episode just to say....I've heard all the "rumors"...the actress that plays Brook Lynn is modest, religious, not happy with her baby weight, whatever...but I don't think that means religious, modest people wear winter clothing all summer! There are tasteful, modest AND flattering ways to dress her, post baby weight.
Her outfits are always THE worst. The granny blouses. That stretchy, black tube skirt, day after day, that doesn't flatter her. And today, where in PC NY, the temps are 90, and everyone and their lawyer is at the MC pool cooling off...Brookie's working and has donned her long sleeved blouse, black pants and boots?! Get thee to wardrobe, STAT!
Someone in wardrobe needs to improve her look. Like, yesterday. Sorry. Not sorry.

@amyb So true. Brook Lynn never looks good, even on her wedding day.
