Re: General Hospital šŸ„ July 2024 - Spoilers Included

I am really enjoying the pace of the show in the past few days.  I don't even mind if Jagger hangs around for Ava's custody hearing assuming the hearing will be soon.  I am interested to see how Sonny plans on handling Jagger as well.  Sonny can't be stupid enough to off him as everyone would know it was him who did it.  Sonny did tell Brick at the end of the show to get lots of pictures when Brick told Sonny that Jagger was with Ava.  I wonder what the purpose of the pictures will be?

The show is so lop-sided. Carly was guilty dead-to-rights, but the FBI are the bad guys and sheā€™s treated like a victim. I know we all got used to the hypocritical upside down writing decades ago, but the abrupt anti-climax of this Pikeman baloney seems especially irksomeSmiley Sad

Re: General Hospital šŸ„ July 2024 - Spoilers Included

GH RECAP WEDNESDAY, JULY 31st

Molly arrives at Kristinaā€™s and asks if she can come in. Kristina invites her in, but she hasnā€™t signed those termination papers she left. Molly says, ā€œGood, Iā€™ll tear them up myself.ā€ Molly asks how sheā€™s feeling, and Kristina says the baby is kicking a lot, and her back and feet hurt, but itā€™s all fine. Molly apologizes for waving the document in front of her face and says she was just stressed after seeing the Perez show, and it appeared as if she claimed their baby as hers. Kristina didnā€™t mean for it to seem that way. Molly knows, and she took her silence to mean otherwise, and she shouldnā€™t have assumed the worst of her. She sincerely apologizes.

Kristina says she watched the interview over and can see how Molly might have misunderstood. Kristina wants what is best for her and this baby, and Molly wants that too, but at the end of the day, Molly wants them to be sisters.

Suddenly, a man knocks on the door and serves Kristina court papers. She looks over at her sister. Molly swears they arenā€™t from her. Kristina learns Ava is summoning her to appear at Averyā€™s custody hearing. Molly looks over the papers and says she doesnā€™t have a choice. She says Kristina will have to testify and tell the truth. Kristina cries that Ava knows she witnessed her father beat up Dex, and she canā€™t be the reason her father loses custody of Avery.

Kristina asks if there is a way out and how to avoid testifying. Molly says she canā€™t, she will have to get on that stand and swear to tell the truth about what she saw. Molly says sheā€™ll call and see whatā€™s already filed in the custody case. Kristina suggests maybe Ava will withdraw the subpoena, but Molly doubts it. Molly goes to the other room to make calls, and Kristina says, ā€œUnless I give her a reason to.ā€

In Avaā€™s Metro Court room, she and Scotty talk about her list of witnesses. Scott says they need more than Laura, as Sonny will call Carly, and Carly will lie about what he had for breakfast and do it convincingly. Ava thinks Carly wonā€™t help much after being convicted on RICO charges.

Scott gets a notification, and Kristina has been served. Ava and Scott relish the fact that Kristina will have to testify to what a brutal lunatic her father is. Scott knows Kristina is loyal to her father. Ava believes that when Sonny sees Kristina take the stand, heā€™ll have a total meltdown.

Carly, Michael, and Joss arrive at Wileyā€™s birthday party at the pool. Donna runs up to hug her mother, and Wiley follows. Carly apologizes for being so late, explaining she had a problem, but now itā€™s solved. The kids take Carly over to get some cake. Maxie asks how it went, so Carly asks Joss to take care of the kids while she explains what happened.

Michael reveals to everyone that the charges were dropped, and the evidence somehow disappeared. Later, Michael calls Diane to make sure everything is clear, and he tells Willow he still doesnā€™t know how or who made this happen, but heā€™s so grateful. Michael calls his mom the heart of their family. Willow wishes Sonny could see this and try to make peace. Michael believes Sonny has other things going on and tells her how he stopped him from attacking Agent Cates outside the courtroom. He states Donna is very lucky to have both her parents free today.

Michael notes his dadā€™s attitude has been so much more volatile lately. His mom thinks heā€™s off his meds, and maybe he is, or maybe heā€™s not. Michael wants to get back to focusing on Wiley. Willow calls him a sweet, generous boy, and she gets to watch him grow up thanks to Michael. Michael says they are the lucky ones as they have her in their lives.

Joss and Carly chat, and Carly admits she was making a mental list of things to tell her to teach Donna in case she couldnā€™t be there for her while she grew up. She also hasnā€™t told Donna why she was late. Joss says Donna is way too young to understand. Carly knows Joss isnā€™t, and sheā€™s sorry she put her through this. Carly admits that what she did was stupid. Carly wants Joss to learn from her mistakes, she should have thought about her and Donna instead of getting into it with Cates. Joss knows it may have been impulsive and reckless, but she loves her and is glad sheā€™s free.

Spinelli and Maxie chat, and he admits seeing how things worked out for Jason and Carly has made him reassess his priorities. Those are her and the kids, as they are family. Maxie says she and the kids already know they are his priority, but she doesnā€™t want him to stop being himself. Spinelli promises to talk to her before he does anything else ā€œimpressiveā€ that could affect their familyā€™s future.

Carly interrupts to talk with Spinelli, so Maxie checks in with her office. Carly assumes she has Spinelli to thank for being free, but he swears he had nothing to do with that file disappearing. She asks who did it. Spinelli suggests someone on the inside. She doubts John Cates did this. Carly guesses she has a guardian angel.

In the PCPD interrogation room, Dante meets with Anna and tells her that Sonny tried to take a swing at Cates early, and fortunately, Michael stopped him. Dante says he also discovered General Hospital has no records of Brennan ever being there. Anna reveals Brennan is back as an agent in D.C., and she doubts he has ever lost his status as an agent.

Cates burst into the interrogation room. He demands to talk to Anna and warns Dante to put a leash on his father. Dante leaves, and Cates fumes that the evidence against Carly has disappeared, and that means the three years he put into Jason have been for nothing. Anna reminds him he was supposed to be taking down Pikeman, which he did. His case against Carly has nothing to do with that. Cates says Anna doesnā€™t seem surprised about the missing evidence and believes Jason let Valentin go in exchange for her disappearing the evidence. Anna laughs that he gives her way too much credit, she doesnā€™t have that kind of access. He reminds her that she is WSB, but she points out that sheā€™s a former agent and she is only a police commissioner now. Cates accuses her of framing him as his credentials were used to access the evidence last. Anna laughs. She says thatā€™s on him, and he must answer to his superiors for that. He accuses her of protecting and serving by getting into bed with the enemy, and now Sonny and Valentin are free. He storms out.

Sonny returns to his office and calls Brick for an updated location on Jagger.  Jason shows up, and Sonny says he has nothing to say to him. Jason says, ā€œThis time, Iā€™ll do all the talking.ā€ Jason begins filling Sonny in on everything that occurred on Cassadine Island between him and Cates, including that he wasnā€™t given time to make any calls for help. He had to make a decision at that moment.

Sonny tells Jason he will deal with Jagger and doesnā€™t want Jason involved. Dante walks in, apologizes for interrupting, but thinks he may have arrived at a good time. Jason says he is leaving, but not before telling Sonny that Cates offered again to let Carly go if he testified against him. However, he refused again.

Cates arrives at Avaā€™s room and fumes about Carly walking because the evidence against her has disappeared. He says he has no leverage against Jason and is no closer to putting Sonny behind bars. Ava assures him that she is confident he will find a new angle to get to Sonny. Cates is sorry as he thought this would help her case, but heā€™ll still help her in every way he can. She thanks him but believes sheā€™ll get the outcome she wants.

Ava informs him that Kristina has been subpoenaed to testify in her custody hearing, and sheā€™ll be forced to state that she witnessed her father attack Dex Hellar. She believes Sonny will melt down when she takes the stand. Cates reveals he was able to provoke Sonny this morning, and if Michael hadnā€™t intervened, heā€™d be in jail for attacking him. Cates smiles. Sonny is a ticking time bomb, and itā€™s only a matter of time before he explodes. Ava asks if Cates would testify about what happened today. Cates would love to, and Michael was there too. Ava says sheā€™ll get Scott right on subpoenaing Michael. Cates wants to see Sonny behind bars. Ava thinks she can make that happen with some help from her friends. Cates pulls her into a kiss.

Jason arrives at the PCPD to see Anna. Anna says she heard what happened with Carly. Jason says even the best hacker couldnā€™t get rid of that evidence. Anna admits she has a debt to repay him, but she had nothing to do with that audio file disappearing. Jason asks who did then. She reveals that Jack Brennan is free and back with the WSB. She reveals her theory that the WSB and Brennan worked to sever all ties with Pikeman before the FBI took Pikeman down. She also thinks the WSB has bankrolled Valentin and Charlotteā€™s disappearance. The only thing puzzling her is why Jack would make the evidence disappear to save Carly. Anna knows Brennan talked a lot about how much he enjoyed Carlyā€™s visits, and he made a comment to her that he wasnā€™t in the business of ruining peopleā€™s lives. So why would Jack go to the trouble of taking a significant risk in hacking into the FBI servers to save Carly.

Back in his office, Sonny tells his son that Jagger wants to take him down, and heā€™s always been his target. Dante agrees that Cates crossed a line, but he canā€™t cross the line with him. Dante tells his father that he has to stand down. Sonny rants that Jagger wonā€™t go away and asks why he should listen to Dante as heā€™s a cop first and his son second. Dante explodes, ā€œYou can only push people so far away, and I am right there!ā€ Sonny gets a call and says he has to take it. Dante doesnā€™t want to be here to hear it anyway and storms out. Itā€™s Brick, and he says Ava is with Jagger in her suite. Sonny orders him to take a lot of photos.

On the next General Hospital:

Sonny promises Kristina she won't have to testify.

Blaze talks with her mother and says, ā€œI donā€™t know where we go from here.ā€

At the pool, Trina tells Joss she saw something she wasnā€™t supposed to see.

Jordan promises TJ that sheā€™ll be fighting alongside him.

Ava tells someone, ā€œI didnā€™t realize I had to clear my visitors with you.ā€

Re: General Hospital šŸ„ July 2024 - Spoilers Included

@ninjawife It's evidence that she is a "loose" woman and not a fit mother and it also compromises Jagger as her star witness in the custody case. Plus, if Jagger does end up dead, it could potentially frame Ava as a murder suspect if you alter the photos the right way once Jagger is found dead.

Speaking of, can't wait for Brennan to return and leverage Carly for what he wants from her. At least he knows how to treat a lady.

Here's an idea:
What if John Cates kills Ava and frames Sonny for it?

@AbbeyPenny1226 I like it! Sorry to see Ava go, but they really don't know what to do a strong woman anymore.

Well finally we have Jagger's real motive out there for ALL to see...take down Sonny.  Somehow the words "obsessive compulsive" come to mind.  Talk about holding a grudge...30 years.  Did anyone at the FBI ever get a "read" on Agent Cates' mental abilities about holding onto the past?  Was he ever given something along the lines of mental health evaluations?  Was therapy ever considered?  He made clear to Jason that he had to manipulate the higher-ups to send him to PC on the "protect" Sonny case.

I actually see nothing wrong with Cates bringing down Sonny. It's about time he had to pay for his crimes. He's a thug.

I totally agree with you that Sonny is a thug and should pay for his crimes.  Our difference of opinion is the way and how it is done.  Legally, by the book, not by blackmail.  For that matter, Jason, as the thug's former enforcer, should also pay for his crimes.  Again, legally, by the book.  Alway appreciate your comments.  Thanks.

Jagger was deliberately written that way, to make him the bad guy while the actual bad guys get cheered on to continue their crimes. Look at Anna, the Chief of Police. She got Valentin out of the country before Jason was allowed to turn over evidence. Mainly, I have come to expect that all the villains on GH are written to perpetuate their crimes and blame everyone else. In fact, I believe most Soaps are written that way. Law Enforcement is either portrayed as bumbling or as the bad guys while the real criminals go free, through some kind of subterfuge,  and isn't that just a situation of art imitating life in our new reality beyond Soap world? Thanks for the discourse.
