I was going to write that I thought the writing had gotten better until I saw today's episode.  Seeing Willow and Drew kissing was just ICK!  Now that Nina thinks she cares about Drew are the Mother and Daughter going after the same man?

Do you think Nina cares about him, or is it just physical? This time Nina has nothing to apologize for. She's free and unemcumbered. Miss Holier than Thou Willow is not. Finally, she walks the earth alongside everyone else. Come down off the high horse, Willow.

@daisy4 I literally fast forwarded through the entire show with the exception of Cody and James.

I am NOT watching fake politics. And I have no idea why CM has to be held up as the perfect male specimen. He does zero for me. Mac, Brennan, Dante are probably my top three at present.

Why does everyone in the cast have it in their contract to blow smoke up his toned buttocks? I swear CM must have Tinkerbell on ransom to get ABC to pump him like this.

I got nothing today and there is nothing to comment on with this garbage. It's almost time for the alien to come back and make me go on hiatus again. Thank God for Tracy.

And exactly why would Willow or Drew kiss each other with no hint of attraction towards either one so far? Or any hint that she is unhappy with Michael? It's a bad romance novel times ten. Would you just kiss your husband's uncle at a party like that? Is there any female writer on the writing staff? At all?

Someone check Willow's hip. We may have another case of metalosis.

Somebody cue Lady Gaga.

I want your drama, the touch of your hand

I want your leather-studded kiss in the sand

I want your love
Love, love, love, I want your love
(Love, love, love, I want your love)

Will Jake accept the offer about to be made by Jason?

I need to address Jake/Jason and money:  If I understood correctly, Jason wants to pay for Jake's tuition for art school in Spain.  That's fine.  And do I understand correctly that ALL these years Jason has never monetarily contributed to the boy's financial welfare (child support)?  And then there is Sonny who until recently "loved Jason as a brother" and he has not either (when Jason was missing, dead, whatever) stepped up to the plate?  Heck, we now know that he was the main source of dough, ra, me for Gio's music/violin success.  Please friends, correct me if I'm not seeing the whole picture.  Merci in advance.

@mysoutherncomfort Jason has trust funds for all the kids. I know Elizabeth tried to break into Jake's at one point for some stupid reason so it may have been used for whatever it was. I can't remember the dumb reason.

IN MEMORIAM

GENERAL HOSPITAL ALUM RICHARD SIMMONS DEAD AT 76

July 13, 2024 17:56PM

Richard Simmons, the fitness guru who appeared as himself on General Hospital from 1979 to 1983, and then again for a couple of episodes in 2013, passed away one day after turning 76. According to TMZ, a call from his housekeeper just before 10 a.m. on  Saturday brought fire and police to his home and they pronounced him dead at the scene. No signs of foul play were found and itā€™s being treated as a natural death. The site updated that Simmons suffered a fall the night before and could be connected to his passing.

Inspiring A Nation To Get Fit

Born on July 12, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he became beloved for his passion for fitness and upbeat personality. According to the IMDB, he opened his workout studio, Simmons, in 1974 in Beverly Hills because he felt most gyms catered to those already fit and he wanted to help beginners and those overweight. It closed in 2016. The site also said he was motivated to lose weight after receiving an anonymous note, left on his car, that said, ā€œFat people die young. Please donā€™t die.ā€

He joined GH in 1979, staying with the show until 1983. In the storyline, he held classes for those wanting to get in shape at the Campus Disco, where Laura (Genie Francis) worked and Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) ran it. Simmons recently discussed those magical days. After years out of the spotlight, he started talking about what he wanted to include in his memoir on social media. On the subject of his time on the ABC soap, he wrote about how the offer came about after an appearance on a talk show with Regis Philben, ā€œA few days later, I met with the most powerful woman in daytime television: Gloria Monty,ā€ he wrote. ā€œI also met with the head writer, Pat Falken Smith. These ladies were very smart.ā€

He discussed his first scene, which had to be intimidating since he wasnā€™t an actor. ā€œI had never memorized lines before. So much was going on in my head. At the end of my scene, I heard the sound of heels clicking on the floor and everyone froze. It was Ms. Monty, and she was talking to me. ā€˜Richard, the television is this big. You are talking like you are on a screen in a movie theaterā€¦bring your voice down.ā€™ So, I did.ā€

He returned to the show for its 50th anniversary, appearing in two episodes to help out with the Nurses Ball. Lynn Herring (Lucy) spoke warmly to Digest about that in 2023: ā€œRichard is truly a pure entertainer and he really wants everybody to laugh and feel comfortable. So the moment he steps on set, heā€™s greeting everybody, you know, from the lighting guys to everyone else on the crew. He talks and jokes and he points out something personal about someoneā€™s outfit and teases them, so he makes everybody laugh. There are 100 people on the set, and all of a sudden he walks out and all the focus is on this one guy because he is just so present, and listening to every word. He just commanded such a warm feeling with everybody. For some reason, he and I just really hit it off. We connected because Lucy is such a large character, too, that you need to be ā€˜onā€™ sometimes when you really donā€™t feel like it. He came to my dressing room and we had the best talk. It was so much fun to hear what responsibility he feels for his audience. The last day he taped, he brought me this beautiful summery dress that he had actually used in drag for some fun skit and he thought that I would love to have it. It just killed me that he wanted me to have it. I had complimented him on a beautiful tank top he was wearing that had a peacock on it and he sent that to me, too. He was so kind. It was very special to me to have that time with him.ā€

Kin Shriner (Scott) responded to the sad news on Twitter saying, ā€œRIP to Richard Simmons he brought quite a flair to [General Hospital] in the Hay Day, I got a kick out of him and his aerobic classes on the show!ā€

It is unknown how far he got with his memoir, but his tales were thrilling to those who followed him on social media. On his birthday he wrote, ā€œThank youā€¦I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday. Love, Richard.ā€ The account also released another tweet after his supposed death saying, ā€œHello gorgeous!  Please donā€™t rain on my parade.ā€ Tweets can be scheduled ahead of time, so there may be more coming.

Thank you @Laura14 for your reply.  Somehow my memory bank was empty on that point.

[ Edited ]

GH cannot write a strong woman if they tried. Catching up on Friday and I'm kinda done.

Between Anna sleeping with Valentin for work, Portia being a harpie, Jason paying all expenses, Drew being celebrated as a perfect male specimen who is being a dog and making a fool of mother and daughter who also have zero respect for themselves, and Carly ready to throw over her life for Jason, no wonder they are offing Ava.

They have no idea what to do with any of us who can actually stand on our own two feet, up to male BS, and on our own pocketbooks.

Even Heather has become a victim with a bad hip replacement. Can we please bring back a character like Epiphany, dial down Alexis' crusades or restore Tracy to some of her backbone?

I need a break from male superiority aka their stupidity and stupid writing.
