Also, Charlotte was rude to the career day guests and cheated in math or science.

Turned the tv on @3:05.  The talking heads were telling viewers what they just heard.  At 3:30, after about 7-8 commercials, a rerun of GH came on.  It's prior to Frew's surgery.

I hope they aren't making Charlotte the Bad Seed child in  this soap..... Y & R is already playing that song these days and it ISN'T entertaining and i always feel bad for the YOUNG kids that have to get themselves mentally into a place to play "evil" children....

They've run that ticker at the bottom for the last couple of days.  Still repeats.  I just read on the other thread (sorry if I'm repeating what's been posted here) that GH is on ice until the hearing is over.

Re: General Hospital ~ January 2020 ~ Spoilers Included

[ Edited ]

I just read something that is posted on a private board written by someone who supposedly use to work for ABC. Although I have no problem copying and pasting articles that appear on soap/magazine sites, I do not c&p posts that appear on other message boards so I am going to summarize.

  • When a show like GH is preempted because of a news event, that decision is made by ABC News Division - not ABC Entertainment Division or GH's Executives. ABC News makes the call of what will air and when. We can write as many nasty emails/letters as we want but if they are not going to the correct people., ultimately it will not matter.

  • If the episode does not air on ABC, it will not appear anywhere else - not HULU, not the ABC app or ABC.com. The network gets first air and then it goes to the streaming services.

  • Sometimes Canada airs an episode that is not shown in the US but the next day when it is shown in the US, it is either reshown in Canada or they air an old episode. This is what happened on Tuesday and is why Tuesday's episode showed up on youtube and some other places. Canada did not have a new show today or yesterday which is why we haven't seen those anywhere.

  •  They could show the episodes in the wee hours of the morning but ABC only owns a few affiliates and there are many more that are privately owned. ABC could air the episodes in LA, Chicago, and NY but the other affiliates in the remaining 45 plus states and other areas don't have to give up their air time if they don't want to. That could cause a lot of problems if the viewers in the above-mentioned cities see the shows and viewers in other places don't.

  • If they use the digital platforms, there would be a loss of ad revenue which means loss of money - particularly a problem in Daytime. The demographic for soaps is women over 50 and according to their stats, a lot of that audience is not digitally inclined.

  • Even though viewers are frustrated sometimes knowing what's REALLY going on helps.

I don't know how much of this is true but it does make sense. As soon as I read Canada wasn't getting new shows either, for some reason I felt better. On the other hand if I were a Canadian GH viewer and all of a sudden my show stopped airing new episodes because of something going on in the US, I would be mad as h---.
