Saw this today in the theater with DH. Japanese with English subtitles, easy to read. We really liked it, very good movie, not great. Set between 1945-1947, simply put when Japan was in a low place-"zero"- then Godzilla appears making living conditions "minus one". Excellent visual effects on the big screen. The monster is really terrifying and makes a convincing symbol of the horror of nuclear radiation and warfare, The story and character development kept me engaged, good acting. We thought that the missing American occupation presence was goofy but the fact that the people organized against Godzilla was an interesting theme. Music effective. Recommend on the big screen. Limited profanity or graphic killing a relief. BTW It was raining hard and all the movies were mobbed.

@birdQ13   Oh I so want to see this.  My son is on another deployment though and he's my Godzilla buddy.  I raised him on all the movies.   I'm not feeling well right now so it's going to have to wait.   But thank you for the review,  I have heard good things about this film.  I love Godzilla.

Will have to see this one. Our family are Godzilla fans. Always watched the marathon on the El Ray channel before Spectrum dumped the channel. Thanks for the review!
