A beautiful woman and a face the camera loved.  The first movie I ever saw her in was The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.  I remember the photos David Bailey shot of her in the 60's.  She was married to him at the time.  She had some very interesting lovers as well:  Roger Vadim, had a son with him, Marcello Mastroianni, had a daughter with him and was rumored to be the mistress of the President of France but his name escapes me.

 

She was wonderful in Mayerling, Belle de Jour and The Young Girls of Rochefort.

 

Very good news that there were no lasting effects.

You are right about Julie Christie.  I guess I remember Catherine from some other movie.

She is only 76?   I always thought of her as much older than I am.   I guess I was wrong about that.
