Kelsey Grammar will reprise his role as "Frazier." The new series will be set in Boston. It will air on Paramount+ beginning Thursday, October 12.

We might need to tune that in! I loved Frazier, in fact I watch it nearly every night at 3 a.m. - I don't watch for long before I'm snoozing though!

Yes, I heard this a few months ago. I cannot imagine Fraiser without Martin (of course John Mahoney passed away), or especially without Niles (who said he would not be a part of the show). Daphne will not be a regular either.
It's based in Boston again [Cheers], instead of Seattle.

I kind of thought it might be based in Chicago since that's how the series ended. I don't get Paramount+ so I guess I'll have to wait for the reruns on some channel on my cable service.
It won't be the same without Martin and Niles. What about Roz? I guess since it's based in Boston she won't be there either.
For those who watch it I hope you'll post your opinions.

Pass..... The original was a great show. They should just leave well enough alone.

@kaydee50 Roz will make a guest appearance. Lilith will also make a guest appearance. Frazier's son who is now an adult will be a cast regular.

"Frazier" was such a richly written and beautifully acted character, a new show about him would seem to have at least a chance, IF it's a quality production... At this age, he'd have a whole new set of challenges and interesting situations...
There were so many vivid characters on that show. Just remembered one of several that really stood out was "Bebe Glazer", a recurring character who played Frazier's crafty, weird and probably amoral agent or publicist or something. Used to love when Bebe was on, a true original. She was so sort of 'off the wall', just brilliantly unexpected-- the opposite of the usual, stereotypical, predictable sitcom characters...

I'm willing to keep an open mind. I agree it will all come down to the writing. That was the real star of the original show.

I couldn't agree more! Brilliant scripts.

I would be interested in giving it a try since the original was so good! 👍😊
