It did make me want to check and read and learn about royality of the past. Have you learned about royality of the past?

If you want to learn about the Tudors look for books by Alison Weir.  She has written multiple nonfiction books about them and just started a fiction series about Henry VIII's wives.

I took a lot of history in college which is where I learned about English royalty and Russian royalty.

Alison Weir writes decent books, but she takes a lot of liberties with the facts.  I've read her series on the Tudor wives and it is decent reading.

What they do with the facts when they make movies on Kings and Queens is unforgivable . Anything for a buck.

Why it's important to read books by real historians. Thru the yrs. so much gets started as rumor and untruths they just get bigger and bigger.

I majored in English in college. I have read many books about the Tudor and Elizabethan eras. If you are interested in fiction that is well researched, I would recommend a trilogy by Hillary Mantel with Thomas Cromwell as the main character. The first book is "Wolf Hall" which was made into a series on PBS. The books have been given many awards.

@qualitygal I also recommend the books authored by Antonia Fraiser that recounts British history from the Tudors through today's royalty.

I always thought "The Tudors" was soft-core porn. And not very factual either. Henry was a hugely obese, sick man when he died.
