I have to say Saving Private Ryan........the opening scene was riveting

I think my favorite is The Train. There was a similar film more recently, Monument Men, but the original, starring Burt Lancaster, was much better and based on a true story. It centers around Allied servicemen saving the world's art treasures which the Nazis had stolen and placed on a train. The film was very suspenseful throughout. Guns of Navarone, The Dirty Dozen, Stalag 17, and Saving Private Ryan were also great films.

I guess Courage Under Fire. (Denzel and Meg).
Not into war movies. Another one on that line was a submarine movie.
