A Room With À View is one of my favorite films ever. It is so sweet and endearing and I love to watch it again and again. The ending is so very romantic.

#1 on my list of romantic movies! But why do I always hold out hope that somehow, this time, Denys will live?
#2 A Little Romance- Diane Lane's debut performance. I think she was 12 or 13. Excellent acting by the kids, Laurence Olivier is terrific as a helpful pickpocket and the scenery of France and Italy is spectacular. It is now on my bucket list to kiss under the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, at sunset.
#3 The Sound of Music- When Maria and the Captain dance the Llandler, I turn to mush.

First one that comes to mind is Wuthering Heights with the great Laurence Olivier.

Me Before You.
To my delight, it was on two days ago and I was able to record it.

"The Awful Truth", "Indiscreet", and "The Philadelphia Story". I like a few smiles with my romance.

Hitchcock's "Notorious", with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman.
There's so much depth to the romance, along with the suspense. Bergman has one of her best roles-- she's not perfect here, she's a little damaged and self-destructive. She's the daughter of a notorious German spy, and Cary Grant starts out a little bit exploitative of her-- he's a Federal agent wanting to use her guilt to penetrate a Buenos Aires spy ring headed by Claude Rains.
When they do fall for each other, hard, there are complications. Best love scene ever is when Cary sneaks into Rains' mansion, rouses the poisoned Bergman, and in great danger, carries her out to freedom!
