Pacino did win some awards for portraying Michael Corleone but he didn't win an Oscar.
And I don't think he appreciated being nominated in the supporting category for The Godfather.

The travesty is that they didn't want Pacino to play Michael in the first place! Thought he was all wrong for the part.

He also served his country "England" in WW2 in the end lost his life.
