3:30 p.m. Eastern--  "The V.I.P.'s"   Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Margaret Rutherford, Louis Jourdan, Rod Taylor, Maggie Smith, et al.

 

This one never gets old, does it, @Witchy Woman?  Ha.  Soapy portrayal of intense mogul Burton and his disillusioned wife, (La Liz) who is about to bolt with new love Louis Jourdan.

 

Absorbing side stories with Rod Taylor/Maggie Smith, and of course the peerless Margaret Rutherford.  Sumptuous production values amid all the angst.... No matter how often it airs, I try to alert it-- it's just so much escapist fun!

Rats, I have been busy and missed the beginning, but just tuned in.

 

That face!  Those eyes....a force of nature! Cat LOL

 

I could watch it a million times and still love it.  On screen, they are just magnificant and perfect movie stars.

 

Richard B. was a wonderful match for Elizabeth...I do hope they were wildly happy in their own crazy way!

 

Just delicious.  So many good characters.  Margaret Rutherford is another favorite in anything.

 

I love everything about this soap opera movie!

You'll be happy to know I cried on cue when Elizabeth asks "Paul" to take her home and she puts her head on his shoulder.  They ride in silence....

 

Just so hopeless, but so satisfying Cat LOL
