Wikipedia just listed his death as suicide.

That is so sad.

Wikipedia has removed the cause of death as suicide, now listing it as natural causes.

They write above before any reporting that this report will be heavily edited as news is still coming in and it is so recent etc.

Re: Exercise Guru Richard Simmons Has Died

Omg. My mom LOVED HIM. Did all his sweating to the oldies tapes when I got home from school. I was probably 10 or 11. He always seemed like such a good dude,

Re: Exercise Guru Richard Simmons Has Died

@qvcfreak,

I'm sad that he died. I posted above that Wikipedia removed his cause of death as suicide, and revised it as natural causes, writing that the information will be heavily edited.

Richard Simmons said the day before he died in an interview: with People:

"I'll spend my birthday doing what I do everyday, which is to help people." He said he was grateful to be here and to be alive for another day.

That's how it seems so many thought of him. A very kind person always wanting to help others.

That is a good way to honor him I think. To be kind to one another.

I was so sorry to read this about Richard Simmons. I just adored him. He was kind and caring about everyone. I think he had the best information on diet and exercising. His Deal A Meal is a healthy relationship with food. I have his tapes Sweating to the Oldies. He will be greatly missed. RIP Richard Simmons.

I'm sorry to hear he's gone. I remember when his show started. I thought he may have passed away from some sort of health issue but read he died of natural causes. May he RIP.

Re: Exercise Guru Richard Simmons Has Died

I worked with a woman who had just been divorced and her ex was a deadbeat. Didn't pay child support for their young daughter.

She was very overweight and wanted to get healthy for her daughter so she wrote to Richard Simmons and told him her problem. She wanted his tapes and asked if she could pay for them over time. He sent her a nice letter and gave her the tapes for free. I've never forgot his kindness to her.

He was a special man.
