I really love this series and will be sad when it ends. Over the seasons, I have come to appreciate even those characters that may have seemed incidental to me at first. Having watched the Morse series, I never thought I would "fall in love" with Jim Strange. I like the idea of him being married to Joan. Anton Lesser has also been  a surprise to me. I remember him as a cute, smarmy little crook in an episode of New Tricks, among other roles.

I have given up on PBS when it comes to "editing" this series. Amazon Prime Video has the full episodes of prior seasons for streaming or downloading, so I have done that with a couple of seasons, but for the most recent seasons, I just get the region 2 dvd from my family in the UK or buy it from Amazon UK, since that is usually the first available option.

@Highlands72   I never knew who Anton Lesser actually was.  I had seen him in other dramas, etc.  But I just never caught hold of the name. But he's just amazing.  He's actually my favorite on the show.

@IMW Surprisingly, on Valentine's Day I saw a movie, Good Liar,  with Helen Mirren and Ian McKellan at my local library.  The film, in black and white, was exceptional.  I highly recommend it.
