Elizabeth Taylor, Burton in "The V.I.P.'s" TCM 10:00 p.m. Eastern

10:00 p.m. Eastern--  Doesn't matter how often TCM shows "The V.I.P.'s",  it's always a guilty pleasure treat.

Richard Burton is a fabulously wealthy mogul who neglects beautiful Elizabeth, so much so that she is running off with Louis Jourdan, as soon as the weather lifts and their plane can get out of Heathrow (or wherever the airport is)....

Lots of amusing sub-plots and performers, including Maggie Smith, Rod Taylor, wonderfully dotty aristocrat Margaret Rutherford, etc.  I get a kick out of the airport "manager", a frantic man who buzzes around his charges like an attentive but exasperated fruit fly.

But the intensity of the Taylor-Burton connection is the real driver of the film.  Elilzabeth's clothes and jewels are sumptuous...

Oh, interesting-- I just noticed in the opening credits that Givenchy is responsible for Elizabeth's clothes in this,  Didn't know that.  I always associate Givenchy with Audrey Hepburn, who wore him constantly.

Taylor looks great in his clothes.  In fact, I think they do her more justice than the more "bohemian", albeit expensive, clothes she often seemed to gravitate to off-screen.  I like her in "subdued elegance"...
