They are still looking for someone to pick them up and continue the show. The city of Nashville hopes they do. Great advertising for the city. Fun to watch the filming, too.
Some of the cast played a benefit last night on the Opry stage and talked about their hopes for the future of the show.

Nashville didn't know they were being canceled so I'm guessing what we saw last night was a wrap up for a season finale, not a series finale, hence Juliette's plane going MIA.
Honestly the ratings have been pretty bad for this show and last night was a disappointment to me. I watched it fully expecting there to be some major drama and cliffhangers since they thought they'd be coming back. But some things were tied up very nicely with a bow and even the plane missing isn't all that shocking to me. Even for a season finale, I found it pretty dull.
If enough people had been watching this show from the get go, it wouldn't be in this predicament to begin with so I don't really get those petitions. I'm just of the mindset that shows get canceled, new shows start, life goes on. It was fun while it lasted.
If it comes back to a regular network, I'd continue to watch but I don't subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, etc. so I'd be out if that's where they go. But I just don't see them lasting even on another network if people aren't going to start watching on a regular basis. The only shows that had worse ratings for May 11 were 2 on the CW!

I think they wrapped things up nicely. There have been rumors for a while about this show being cancelled, so I think they probably wrapped enough things up so that if it did end, there wouldn't be all of these cliffhangers, but in true soap opera sense they had to leave one! It would be nice if another network picked it up, but if not I am glad I watched it,it gave me a whole other insight into country music..I found out that I kind of like it, or at least some of it.

right now it has over 100000 signatures, including mine.
i will be watching tonight.
Sunshine45, did you sign the petition on change, org, or were you able to find the other petition. I was notified by change.org that petition was dropped and they suggested that people sign the alternative. However, there was never any information on how to do that.
If you did sign the other, please advise.
Thanks

That's odd because it's still up there and now has over 116,000 signatures on it.

I will take a look at that. Perhaps the 2 petitions were both on change.org. I never got a reply from the email from the one I signed advising me to sign the other one. Thanks.

I watched Nashville last night and I was thinking , oh they got the memo of the cancellation. Everything seemed to be wrapping up with everyone getting their happy ending, then Juliette........

They filmed two ending - one that we watched last night and one with a happy ending for Juliette and Avery. They went with the cliffhanger because they think they will get picked up by another network. The City here in Nashville has invested a lot in the series. Many people will be unemployed if the show doesn't continue. Nashville has been a good experience for our city and we hope it continues.

i signed one petition first because i did not know about both (the one with fewer signatures). i then received an email saying that the person who started that petition was going to withdraw it and asked everyone to sign the second petition, which had more signatures. that is what i ended up doing. they give an update every few days and it is now over 100000 signatures.

here is the link to the second petition i signed. it now has 119000+ signatures. if you dont want to click on the link then go to change.org and type in "nashville tv show" in their search bar. it will be the first petition that comes up. hope that helps!
