Y'all!  Yes LOL we have seen Martin Clunes interviewed and we have seen the original series (ordered the set thru PBS).  He is delightful in person as the real person (which makes the fact of his excellence as an actor apparent).  His wife laughed and said how delightful he is in person, too!

 

So, his autistic ways (as Doc Martin) are endearing.
