Oooh -- tough one.

I can start listing what I think are my favorites and then another one pops into my head.

The list is long, but I'll add one here that hasn't yet been mentioned.

Glengarry Glen Ross.

I also vote Glengarry Glen Ross...

EVERYONE in that movie was excellent....I wish the title had been something different so more people would have seen it....

If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching.

OF course, no  stupid special effects, no idiotic super heroes,  or boom boom boom loud music...just excellent story, excellent dialog and excellent acting....

A David Mamet script and actors doing some of the best work of their careers.  Riveting.

Oh, to have been a fly on the wall of that set.

As much as I love The Odd Couple I would have to say The Apartment. My brother who I loved very much died eleven years ago way too young. This was a favorite movie of his, we would watch it together. I try to watch it every Christmas because it reminds me of him, I like to think he is watching it with me.

Re: Do You Have A Favorite?

[ Edited ]

Love him in his "everyman" persona.  I'll choose "The Apartment" too, and also his Oscar-nominated role in
"Missing",  with Sissy Spacek.  Lemmon is a frustrated American father, who along with his daughter-in-law,  is determined to unravel the disappearance of his son in a Latin American country.

Oops, edited to correct the spelling of his last name-- he's anything but a "lemon".   I need caffeine.

Yes!  That scene in "Missing" where he makes that heartfelt plea for his son in the stadium always brings the  tears.

Hard to pick a favorite.  He was equally excellent at dramatic and comedic roles.

Love "The Out-ofTowners" and "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" when I need a laugh!!!
