Did Anyone Watch 20/20 Last Night?

It was the story of Diane Downs. In Oregon, in 1983, she shot her 3 children, 1 daughter died. Her other daughter and son were severely injured. I remember when it was in the news. It was one of the most disturbing stories I've watched. She has been denied parole 2x and is up again in 2020.

She said a stranger tried to carjack her and shot the kids. She was shot in her arm(self-inflected). In an interview she was laughing that she couldn't tie her shoes for a month. With 1 dead child and 2 injured that was her complaint. She is scary.

I saw parts of it, she IS very strange looking and scary.

I couldnt get it out of my head. I woke up this morning thinking about Becky, the daughter she had in prison and had to give up for adoption. Her struggles were poignant.

Did anyone see the movie about Diane with Farrah Fawcett? I think it was in the late 80’s. She did a great job playing Diane. I think Ryan O’Neal was the postal worker.

I too felt sorry for the daughter she had after beig convicted. I also didn't know the prosecutor adopted the 2 injured children.

@proudlyfromNJ, yes, I remember watching that movie though it was difficult. If memory serves, I think Farrah did a good job and I also recall her playing a part in the movie 'the burning bed'. I miss Farrah as I thought she was a good actress; very pretty too IMO.

Yes I watched last night. I knew the story, watched the movie. It's very hard to get out of your head how a mother could do such a thing. Thank God 2 of them survived and are living a good life.

I wish I would have seen this. I do remember the movie. Didn’t her daughter testify against her? Imagine if all her children had been killed and there was no voice for what actually happened. Any story when you hear of a parent killing their children is too horrible.
