Sami Goes to Hollywood was the storyline. EJ was "killed" by one of Clyde's more idiotic henchmen and during her (pretty short but awesome) period of grief, some studio types in cheap suits came a' calling and offered her a deal to make a movie of her life. She took the kiddies and headed west.
