@BirdieGal

I was a bigger fan of Shaun Cassidy too. Loved Hardy Boys along with Nancy Drew mysteries.

I watched reruns of David.

I just checked and Shaun is 59 now.  My fave song was Da Doo Ron Ron.

@threecees

Oh Shaun...be still my 13 year old heart. He got so edgy with his “Under Wraps”album. Ooohhh, I thought it was so wild.

Times have changed. My mother would not allow me to get the Tiger Beat magazines and others like that. I would have to spend the night at my BFF’s house and buy them when her mom would take us out. I kept them at her house. So sad, I never got the room with the posters of an idol crush.

Our DD fell in love first with One Direction. I took her to a concert, let her buy the magazines and even bought poster frames for her room instead of taping to walls.

My mom had several hang-ups.

His father, Jack, was "mad, bad and dangerous to know."  But there always seemed something so sweet about David.

Godspeed.

I saw David Cassidy in person in 2001 at Macy's on 34th Street.  It was near Christmas and he had partnered with  Sarah Ferguson - Duchess of York.  They were promoting a charity that helped children affected by 9/11.   He seemed very down to earth and was handsome.  So sad - too young.  May he rest in peace.

I just read the bulk of his estate, $150,000 went to his son Beau. His half brothers Shaun, Patrick, and Ryan were bequeathed his music memorabilia, with his estranged daughter Katie Cassidy left out of his will. It's sad for a career such as his, that's all the money he had left. It makes me wonder if he was careless with his money or didn't have trustworthy people looking after it?

@Jordan2

That is pocket change for a celebrity.

Must not have done good managing with whatever money he had left.

I remember seeing him on The Doctors t.v. show earlier this year and I'm pretty sure David was estranged from his son too at one point or another. The episode that I saw was probably a repeat show. Not sure.

That sure is sad, not being close with your children!

I could be very wrong but I want to say he mentioned on Dr. Phil that he didn't really know his daughter and had no part in raising her.  I don't think was an estrangement.  It sounded like they were just complete strangers to one another.

He did say that @Laura14, that he was only her biological father because he didn't raise her.  They evidently did reconnect, but not as a parent/child relationship.
