I tried to watch it but it came on when too many other shows I like were on. My friend I eat with loved the show.

I haven't told her it is canceled. She will be upset. She always hoped Victoria Principal would join the cast.

We had that problem until we decided to get a DVR. Without that, we wouldn't see a lot of the shows we enjoy.

When you tell your friend, please let her know that there are some petitions going on online to post on to try to bring it back. Thanks.

Re: Dallas has been cancelled!

I really liked it but John Ross got soooo mean and toooo much cheating going on. I really liked his wife Pam and he together and I liked Christopher and the cowgirl together. Of course loved Bobby and Sue Ellen back on the bottle. Hopefully some other channel will pick it up and tame it down in someplaces.

Re: Dallas has been cancelled!

I loved the original Dallas series and was so looking forward to this series. I watched part of the first season and just could not get into it.

I know many people loved it and for that reason it's a shame to see it cancelled.

Re: Dallas has been cancelled!

On the same day fans of one Warner Horizon-produced cable drama cancelled surprisingly after three seasons, Longmire, rejoiced at the news of a fourth season pickup by Netflix, fans of another Warner Horizon cable series axed after three seasons, Dallas, received disheartening news.

In a note posted this morning, Dallas executive Cynthia Cidre and Michael Robin told supporters that efforts to find another network for the series have been unsuccessful, and this is officially the end of the road for the sequel to the hugely successful 1980s primetime soap.

Neither the producers of Longmire nor the team of Dallas expected the cancellation, thus the cliffhangers/introduction of new characters in both shows’ third season finales.

Dallas, which centered on the next generations of the Ewing clan, with original cast members Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman reprising their roles, launched to big ratings in June 2012, with nearly 7 million viewers tuning in for the premiere. The show suffered a blow when one of its biggest stars, Hagman, died while filming the second season. The Season 2 episode featuring J.R.’s funeral delivered a ratings spike, bringing in 3.6 million viewers.

Dallas has not been able to reach such ratings highs since, but it did OK and kept its loyal following. The save-Dallas campaign was as strong and organized as that for Longmire. But there was less interest into the Texas drama in the marketplace than there was appetite for Longmire, with no substantial talks taking place despite an effort by the studio to shop the series. Here is Cidre and Robin’s letter to fans:

Hi Friends,

Well, we have come to the end. After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved “Dallas” at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded. Warner Horizon has attempted, in a Herculean way, to try and find us a new home, but at the end of the day it did not work out.

We so appreciate the outpouring of support by all of you, and the #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking. We cannot fully express how much we loved making this show for you and with you. We had 3 wonderful years together, and we had the times of our lives bringing this iconic show back to television. Thank you for your support; thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful characters; and thank you for watching our show.

We wish you all our very best, and thank you again for loving “Dallas.”

With great admiration and appreciation,

Cynthia Cidre and Michael Robin

Re: Dallas has been cancelled!

I just read about this on my facebook page. We were so hoping it would continue. My DH never saw the original Dallas, but was really getting into this one.

We will miss this show and all the great actors/actresses.

Yet they keep the reality shows on... ugh.

I was hoping it would get picked up by another network. {#emotions_dlg.crying}

I still think it's better than most of the reality shows that are on, but I guess it's more expensive to produce than the Kardashians and Honey Boo Boo. . .
