Oh, yeah, @spiderw ,  I can even now hear her plaintively warbling "Secret Love" in my head....didn't know she sang it in that film.

 

Meant to agree in my other post that her life-long, committed and effective efforts on behalf of the animal world make her a first-class humanitarian in my book!

Watched part of it yesterday. Think DD is a poor actress and chews up the scenery.

Ever see "Midnight Lace". 

When I lose the TV controller, it's always in some remote destination.

     I love Midnight Lace!!  So much of Doris' acting style was in the 'female culture' of her time...a woman who was a good-goody housewife and mother.  But she often played some strong, dramatic female roles.  I like that she could carry a serious, dramatic role as well as a silly, comical role.
