I was sorry to come across this.  Dana Carvey announced a day or so ago that his son Dex had died of an accidental overdose, and his partial statement follows.

A very sad time for that gifted performer and his family.

very sad 😞 how horrible to lose a child any day , but holiday time must be unbearable .  Something has to be done about this drug entering our country and Now !

My heart hurts so much for a family I've never met.  My first and favorite nephew died of an over dose five years ago.  His birthday is this week.  Selfishly, I'm a mess.

I'm very sad to hear about Dex's passing. I  remember watching Dana on SNL many years ago. His impersonations are hilarious.

A friend I grew up with and have know almost my entire life lost her son to a drug overdose about 10 years ago.

 Drug usage is not innocuous .

Tragically , it does not discriminate ,  it can kill anyone

How very sad. It is the worst pain to lose a child. I'm sure Dana and his wife had hints this was coming, there isn't much you can do as a parent for an adult child.
