Flash alert!
11:45 a.m. Eastern-- "While the City Sleeps" Dana Andrews, Ida Lupino, Thomas Mitchell, Vincent Price, George Sanders, Rhonda Fleming, Howard Duff, Sally Forrest, John Drew Barrymore
Juicy suspense, tracking the "Lipstick Killer", amid a seething media empire power struggle. One of my favorite Fritz Lang-directed films, and a must for Dana fans. And what a cast! There should be more of deliciously acidic Ida Lupino, though.

Was just looking at TCM guide Andrews day of movies. Very handsome. His brother was actor Steve Forrest.

If you haven't seen Dana Andrews in "The Best Years of Our Lives" made in 1946, you should. One of his finest performances, and certainly one of the great WW11 movies.

Ida Lupino was a very underrated woman in hollywood.
She often directed the movies se was in, but times as they were, never got screen credit.
She also wrote many scripts. I always liked her no nonsense, I GotCha attitude
Very underrated....Also Richard Widmark...also underrated...

Just wanted to add Howard Duff and Ida Lupino were married.
I don't think they had any scenes together in this movie. But I did like his quote to Dana Andrews:
Ed Mobely : But I didn't do anything!
Lt. Burt Kaufman : You think if you're drunk, it doesn't count, huh?
I remember watching Ida Lupino and Howard Duff together on the Lucy Desi Comedy Hour.
