?Copying Programs Off of Cox DVR??

Hi  @Folks!    ? @gardenman   Woman Happy

I have LOTS of shows on my Cox DVR, including LOTS of the Late, Rev Dr. Charles Stanley.   He recently passed away, but I want to save his programs from my COX DVR to DVDs?      for a long time, (as well as other ppl's Programs on my Cox DVR). (ex David Jeremiah Shows)

As long as these incredible Programs are on my COX DVR, I'm locked in to using Cox.  Woman Frustrated

Is there such a convenience,  whereby,  I can drop off my Cox DVR somewhere, & they make DVDs, or (VHS even) of the Programs on my Cox DVR?  Such as,  GeekSquad (BestBuy) or (Rite Aid?)

TIA!  Woman Happy

There's not a program/service like that that I'm aware of. The cable company DVRs are designed to lock you into their service.

The website Techwalla has a tutorial that might work. (Emphasis on might.) The article is titled "How to Transfer Recorded Programs From a DVR to a PC Via an Ethernet."

Interesting.   Cox is NOT nationwide....so what happens if you move out of their territory?

Have you checked to see if they are available on YouTube. You might also contact Intouch.org and see if you can buy them from them.

I don’t subscribe to Cox DVR because I thought you had to pay by certain number of hours. Once you use the number of hours you pay for you have to delete to continue recording or buy more hours. I agree they are designed to lock us into their service. Once Cox switched to Contour, no longer able to use my own DVR to record.

@JoyFilled Warrior ,

Instead of trying to capture the programs residing on your Cox DVR, take a look at the Internet Archive website ("a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more").

I don't post hyperlinks, since they are problematic and often cause posts and threads to be removed, so instead I suggest an internet search for "Internet Archive" or copy and paste "archive.org" to get there.

Then, search for the person(s) or content you want, click on a choice and listen and/or watch.

For this example, I did a search for "Dr. Charles Stanley."

You can see the multitude of results, which can then be narrowed down using the criteria on the left side of the screen.

I don't know if this will be exactly what you want, but I think it's a good start.😊

Have a lovely evening, everyone.🌻
