I never really cared for game shows, (except Jeopardy) but I discovered Family Feud with Steve Harvey this past August. I became hooked until I realized I was watching older shows (reruns) from 2012. I came to realize that as the show progressed so did the explicit and implicit humor.
Although I like Steve Harvey I am no longer amused. I never know what's going to come out of the mouths of the contestants or the host anymore. I wouldn't sit and watch this show with one of my grandchildren.
I like the Chase although I think it's rigged. I like the personality of the Beast and the host Brooke Burns. I will occasionally watch Family Feud with Steve Harvey if I'm alone and there is nothing else on TV.

Annabelle, I agree Idiotest does use trickery, but to me that's part of the challenge.
The only host I can't watch is Steve Harvey. He makes the show all about himself. Rather than keeping the show moving, he has to stop and do a comedy routine. But at least he doesn't hold all the women's hands and kiss all of them.

brew I do agree with you about Steve Harvey and I can see where if you truly like this as a game show, you wouldn't like Steve Harvey hosting it.
That's the part I like about it. Otherwise, I think this audience (whomever they find to do a poll) are idiots. Come on. Some of their answers are downright waaaayyyy off.
So, I guess it's OK, to say, if you like the game itself, you wouldn't like a comedian like Steve Harvey hosting it (because he does make it about himself and his form of comedy). However, if you like Steve Harvey and the comedy routines he does, then you don't like it for he game.....am I making sense because I THINK I'm confused! Ha!
That's what I like about this forum, we all have different ideas and can agree to disagree. However, I don't think we disagree, we're just thinking of this game differently.
Phew! My brain hurts. I'd be terrible on these shows, all of them.

I only have gotten familiar with ""Family Feud"" since its on TVLand before ""Everybody Loves Raymond"" at night. Its addicting! Sometimes I question whoever comes up with some of the answers on the board! Rather crude at times but funny.

I watch Jeopardy and Celebrity name game. I haven't seen the Steve Harvey version as of yet.

Good point Annabelle.
The one fluff game show I like is The Newlywed Game. Some of the answers can be quite racy and/or hysterical.

Do you mean an Emmy?

How can I forget my favorite At Midnight on Comedy Central? It's 10% game show (only because they keep score) and 90% laughter.
