Re: Concerts You Would Have Loved To See

@ECBG I've never been able to go to one but I would have given anything to go to a Beach Boys (early days) concert.

Re: Concerts You Would Have Loved To See

The first concert I saw was Janis Joplin and Santana opened for her.  She wore only a shirt with fishnet hose.  It was November and someone in the audience threw a fringed suede jacket at her and she put it on.  Everyone was standing on their seats and then the police came and were hauling people into paddy wagons.  I wasn't one of them, but it was an experience.

Saw Santana twice (my favorite band)

Eric Claption 3 times

The Doors

CSN three times

Bob Dylan

Hall and Oates

The Allman Bros.  about 6 times, always put on a great concert

Huey Lewis

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant

And several contemporary artists,  but I never got to see the Stones.

To on the bay

Bob Dylan was just okay.  Naturally he was hard to understand, this took place in  an arena and it was a full house.  Maybe it would have been better in a smaller venue.  But the Doors, in that same arena and it was electric.

I, too, am sorry that I never got to see David Bowie.  I don't know why I never made more of an effort when he was alive; I've always been a huge fan.

Re: Concerts You Would Have Loved To See

My first concert was The Doors in the summer of 1968 and I was in jr high (I went with  a friend and her older brother was supposed to keep an eye on us!  LOL)

I wish I had seen:

Pink Floyd....They didn't come around much so I missed seeing them.  I still listen to their music a lot.  We saw a tribute band when DS was in high school(I know that doesn't count) but they were amazingly good and sounded just like them!

Queen...would have liked to have seen Freddie Mercury too!

The Beatles (I did see Paul a few times & George once)

David Bowie....would have loved to have seen him.  He performed at the Tower Theater in Philly several times and I should have made the effort to see him.

The Beach Boys....would have loved to have seen them.

Some great concerts that I have seen:...in no particular order.  It's just what is popping into my mind.....

Renaissance with Annie Haslam....no one ever mentions them but they are among my favorite bands and I must have seen them more than half a dozen times.

Elton John, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen all put on amazing shows!...so much energy!

Peter Frampton (the year he recorded Frampton comes alive!) came to my college. So did Bonnie Raitt, Jim Croce, It's a Beautiful Day, Dave Mason, Electric Light Orchestra & the first time that I saw Billy Joel

I also enjoyed the Allman Bros several times, Greg Allman, Marshall Tucker band, Chic Corea, Wishbone Ash, Genesis, Phil Collins, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor & Livingston Taylor, CSN&Y, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf, Santana, Uriah Heep, Steve Miller Band, The Who, Yes, Kansas, Led Zeppelin, Al Stewart, Sting, Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, Chicago, Steely Dan, Talking Heads, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Steeleye Span,  Fairport Convention ...these are who I can remember right now.

I went to a lot of concerts in the 70s and then later when I met DH  but we just don't go anymore.  They have gotten ridiculously expensive and DH is disabled and it's hard for him to manage crowds.  I'm glad we went to many when we were able to.

Re: Concerts You Would Have Loved To See

There are a lot of concerts I would have loved to have gone to!  I love music so much!  I wish I could have gone to see Prince, David Bowie - 2 greally fantastic favorites of mine!  I will not go to concerts any more for several reasons.  My health, safety and expense, just to name a few.  Looking back, I would have loved to see Johnny Cash, too.  Cher, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Cline, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Queen.  Of course, the Beatles!  I can't list them all --- just too many!!!

Re: Concerts You Would Have Loved To See

We only saw Sammy Davis, Jr. once.  Wish we could have seen more of his performances.

There is no one I would pay the outlandish ticket prices to see now.
