Re: Comedy Central Roast For Bruce Willis

@SharkE  Martha and Bruce are next door neighbors, so that is why she was invited.

I thought Bruce and Demi's daughters looked nice last night.  They really enjoyed their mother's roasting of their father...and it was tastefully done and funny.  Demi looked fantastic.

Those girls are not kids anymore..they range from mid 20's to almost 30 years old now so they were mature enough to be there.

Dennis Rodman seemed to be spaced out and lost.  I understand that they

had to cut out most of his performance...he was that bad.

I was disappointed.  Most of it wasn't funny to me and some of it crossed over the line ...suicide of Robin Williams and Make a Wish Kids..nothing funny about either.

I wonder if Cybill Shepherd will be there?

@Jordan2 She is- I'm watching it now!

@Ibby114 I watched it this morning, I was surprised she was there, maybe as you mature you mellow out. I really don’t love roasts as I find the comments mean spirited. Also why not try to get people the guest of honor is actually friends with, not people he just met? I thought Demi was the best part of the roast. I wonder how she kept her appearance under wraps, her daughters and Bruce looked very surprised to see her? Demi looks fabulous, she looks like she could be the oldest of her daughters. Shame on Hollywood for not giving actresses of Demi’s age more roles, they have much to offer and shouldn’t be put out to pasture.

Other than Ms. Moore's appearance, it was a stale presentation.

I bought the roast of William Shatner on DVD. They all make fun of the way he talks. Real clipped speech, etc. Cracked me up

Re: Comedy Central Roast For Bruce Willis

I recorded it but haven't watched yet.

I think that those with delicate sensitivities need to know that these roasts are probably not for you.  There are always jokes that go a bit far - or sometimes really far - and swear words used.  It's the nature of this thing.

Funny - I just recorded and watched the Rob Lowe one the other day.   I thought 'oh, this should be good!' and it was but -what the heck?  I'm pretty sure it was a rerun and I had already seen it.  d'oh!  There was no OAD on the guide data so I just assumed it was new and since I CRS anymore, it never occurred to me that I had already seen it.   I remembered very little, anyway, so it was fun to watch again.  hehe

Oh, dear.  I started watching, then fell asleep.

But then I'm old.  Old enough to remember when roasts were actually amusing.

@just bee I also fell asleep after Cybill spoke - and I'm only 59 !!!  I thought she did well- some of the others (Nicky Glaser- as mentioned here) were just mean spirited and NOT funny.

@Ibby114

I'm 58! Woman LOL

I thought I'd give it another shot and just watched it again.  This time I stayed awake.  There were some pretty good lines sprinkled around the cringes.

I watched it but fell asleep at one point so I missed some, not much.  I am far from being a prude but I just do not understand why the over the top language has to be used at  the Roasts.  I watched most of his movies and to me he is one of the best there is.  Has he ever been nominated for an Oscar?  I hope before his career ends he gets some kind of recognition, he deserves it.

@Lindsays Grandma, I'm not sure but if he was nominated for an Oscar it would have to be The Sixth Sense, a great film.
