@NickNack You are welcome. I just looked at IMdb and, in addition to Janet Leigh in the cast is John Payne, who starred in the first Miracle on 34th st. film.

@Pearlee One of my favorites! Just found out I get MEtv. This must have happened when Antenna tv left and GET tv came, along with some others, so who knows what I have available, lol.

@Pearlee I just checked the lineup on MEtv for tonight, and I will be up all night, lol.

@mousiegirl Ha! It's addicting all right - bringing back a lot of memories.
I watched the Janet Leigh Columbo tonight and didn't care for it. I didn't remember it either, although I'm sure I've seen all the Columbo shows. It was a two-hour one, not a 90 minute one and there seemed to be a lot of time filler init, such as that stupid storyline about Columbo not having gone to thoe shooeting range in ten years.
Also, I thought the beginning was pretty dumb when it was 1:30 a.m. and Columbo was so tired and yawning and had forgotten to put on his jacket and forgot his memo pad. More time filler - and I don't think any detective would act like that because murders happen in the wee hours of the morning and surely they have to be used to working in those kinds of hours. So I didn't much care for this one. Janet Leigh looked terrific though.

@Pearlee Columbo is quirky, that's what sets him apart and makes him funny. I never realized that John Payne was in this episode, but after someone posted that tonight, I can see that it is. Moving on to the Honeymooners, Bob Newhardt, Mary Tyler Moore, etc. MEtv is so much better than Antenna tv, offers so much more and the shows I like best. Perry Mason is on at 9:00am, so if I remember, you know I will be watching or having him on as I work the computer.

Besides the ones that were already mentioned here, several more stand out...Suzanne Pleshette witnessing a murder from her window...The sister murdering her brother as he comes home from work...The man with the high IQ, the record player and a locked room. I enjoyed most of them. Of course, some were better than others.

@Daisy Sunflower I watched the Suzanne Pleshette one during the marathon (again) and she witnessed the murder on the water in a boat with her mother. She did see it through a window of the military guy's (Eddie Albert's) home as he shot one of his military colleagues at his house. I also saw the sister murdering her brother one during the marathon (the brother was played by Richard Anderson, who played Kimble's brothe-in-law married to his sister Donna in the final two-part episode of The Fugitive). A lot of these actors "made the rounds" of the shows back then and I saw them repeated in different roles. Pleshette sure was in a lot of different shows back then too.
I saw Robert Culp (I Spy) in a Columbot during the marathon too; he was also in a different Columbo that wasn't shown, where he murders someone while supposedly having an airtight alibit of narrating a film in a theater (it was a tape recording of his voice that played while he went and murdered someone).
I really enjoyed the marathon, although I kept getting engrossed in it rather than finished up my housecleaning!

Love Columbo! A lot of good actors, writers, and directors worked on that series and the movies over the years. My DH puchased the entire collection for me so now I can have a marathon or watch my favorite episodes anytime I want.
