Made a quick run to our local Safeway today and I saw George Takei shopping. I've lived in my small community for 17 years and this was first time I've seen him, although he only lives about 1.5 miles from me.

Lt. Sulu from the great Star Trek series!!!!!!  What a nice surprise to see him at the local supermarket!!!!!  I have seen him many times on TV and he is a very pleasant person and an activist.

@SharkE : no, after I passed him I went 10 feet further, turned back to make sure it was him. It was right after lunch ( slow time) and I'm sure he has been stopped many many times ( not my style).

Too bad he's such a hateful and unhappy person. JMO

He and his family were interred in US Government run concentration camps during WW2. After the war, the family was left with nothing- no home, no business, no jobs. They lived in poverty for years as a result. 

He is an outspoken advocate for equal rights and at 87 years old, is still vibrant and interesting and active.

A wonderful role model for those who have gotten the short end of the inclusion and equality stick. Live long and prosper, Mr. Takei!!!!!

I ran into Tom Seleck literally with my grocery cart at yes a Safeway.  This was decades ago WOW is that man handsome and was very nice that's my celebrity run in 😊
