Last night DD asked why she was never given $50,000.00 cash for any birthday. When I laughed at her she said she read Cardi B and whoever she is married to gave their 4 yr. old $50K cash for her birthday.

I think it nuts but............their kid, their money.

I assume the reason we know about it is that she did it for publicity, and it seems to have worked.  Other than it being another sign of the general decline of civilization, I have no comment either.

It's all relative. I've shelled out over $50k in cash to my daughter over the years. Between help with school loans and 2 downpayment gifts for homes, I'm sure I've exceeded it.

My niece and nephew were each given a $50k certificate of deposit from their great grandmother shortly before she passed. They were 9 and 10.

if they can afford to stick $50k in a bank account for their daughter, more power to them. They didn't ask me to contribute, so it's none of my business.

I simply communicated that giving children money is not exclusive to Cardi B.
