Cancelled Shows Series Finale

The shows that were cancelled that left the viewers hanging with no future. So Help Me Todd, NCIS:Hawaii and Law & Order: Organized Crime. It just seems that there was  no forethought about the cancellations. Are we suppose to guess what the writers would have done!!

I know Law & OrderSmiley Surprisedrganized Crime is moving to Peacock. I just wonder how many are going to pay for streaming.  I am very disappointed with the networks decision to cancel these shows and continue to add new shows. Does it make sense to even watch if they are going to go off the cliff.

Re: Cancelled Shows Series Finale

This happens all the time with canceled TV shows.  There's nothing new about this although it is disappointing.  I'm pretty sure that some don't know they aren't going to be renewed until after filming is over and they wrapped up the season.  I don't know if anyone would pay for Peacock just to see organized crime.  It wasn't doing well in ratings when it was on free tv.  That's why they shifted it to Peacock.

Re: Cancelled Shows Series Finale

Add NBC's Quantum Leap to the shows that were cancelled mid-storyline.  At least CBS did a good finale for Young Sheldon.  NBC did a so-so job on closing out Magnum P.I.  I haven't seen any ABC series that I watch get cancelled yet, I stopped watching Station 19 years ago, and never watched The Good Doctor, so I don't know how good or bad a job that network is doing in ending shows.  In all seriousness, there is no show on TV right now that I will miss very badly except for one.  If PBS stops showing "Call The Midwife", I may never watch anything but the news ever again!

This may not help with this issue, but I have found Peacock to be my favorite streaming service.  We've had it ever since it came out and use it a lot.

I now get Peacock free with Comcast but it will end in another year. Peacock is raising its rate this Aug. but, there is a better price if you pay for a year at a time.

Re: Cancelled Shows Series Finale

I think both So Help Me Todd and NCIS Hawaii were unexpected.  Young Sheldon was promoted as the final season from the beginning of the season.  They usually film the entire season before showing the season starts.  I've heard that the stars of both So Help Me Todd and NCIS Hawaii were totally blind-sided by the news of their cancellation.  IMO, TV shows shouldn't even be doing cliffhangers at the end of their seasons.  My memory is short, and by the time the next season rolls around, I've probably forgotten what the cliffhanger was anyways.  Not many Who shot JR's anymore.

@elated   There was a rumor that BLUE BLOODS had its last season, but then news that they would be renewed.

My three favorite shows: CHICAGO MED, LAW & ORDER and L&O SVU have ended for the year. Oh, well earlier to bed or reading.

We signed up for the free month of Discovery +, but I didn't see enough to keep adding it to our Direct TV.
