The earlier years were my favorites. I loved Chummy and her husband, Peter Noakes. The episodes with Chummy's mother were so moving.

In my opinion, both the stories and the characters were much more interesting in the earlier years. The historical context was also more compelling, as regards the post-war conditions and the state of affairs prior to the NHS.

I still consider Call the Midwife one of the better PBS offerings.

Don't you think this show just gets better and better? I love it so much-can't imagine not seeing it every Sunday night. The time goes so fast and I know it will be ending way too soon.

Did you see the Christmas special.  It was really good.  I totally agree with you this show is getting better.Smiley Happy

Does anyone know when this show is coming back.  PBS does have good shows to watch.  I use to watch Death In Paradise but they change the main characters all the time so I lost interest.
