The divorce settlement split worked smoothly for many, many years.

For whatever reason, someone got into Mary's ear and advised her to go after everything.

Mary, that's very, very greedy.  Be content with what you have, which is substantial and significant.

I liked seeing this avarice shut down.

Is it substantial and significant?  When Sonny died in 1998 he had a net worth of about $4 million.

Sonny and Mary Bono had two children.  Her current net worth is approximately $200,000 to $1 million.

Cher's current net worth is about $360 million.

I know nothing about the specifics of the lawsuit, but those are the numbers ... interesting.

Sometimes it's not about the money....it's about the point!   And going to court is the only way to make it!

Yes, Go Cher!!!!!

I agree, I can't believe anyone would try to take it from her.  She was with Sonny from the beginning way before he remarried.  It seems to me anyway that they remained.  I never heard him speak badly towards her.  I do know that when he died it was really rough on her.  It's odd that his widow would interfere with music she and Sonny did together.  Glad Cher won.  I totally enjoyed their shows.  It was good, well written and of course Cher's wardrobe was brilliant.  Bob Mackie dressed her beautifully.

So happy for Cher.  She worked hard in that partnership and deserved every penny.  Mary came off looking like a petty, greedy human being.  She had nothing to do with Sonny's musical success.

Whatever Mary's and Cher's current net worths are is irrelevant.

The law is the law.  Mary Bono had no right to discontinue the royalty payments.  I can only assume she got bad legal advice.

If she was left with $4 million on Sonny's death and continues to receive his 50% share of royalties, she should have been able to ensure a comfortable life.  (You have to wonder how much the legal fees for this case cost her.)

And whatever Cher is now worth, is down to her own work.  No one else's.  So it has no bearing on the case.
