Oh, my gosh, @just bee -- I thought I had recorded it! I could have sworn I recorded it! But looking at my stash, I see that I only remembered to record "Designing Women", David Jeremiah, "The Fugitive", "Washington-- Loyal Subject", and "Mission Impossible" this weekend.
Somehow, in all that welter of recording, I missed out on "The Lion in Winter", grrr. But it is shown pretty frequently, so....
Can't remember if you said you have the DVD? If so, how often does an aficionado like you pull it out and watch?

Hard to say. We lost our DVD player (housefire/water hose victim) and haven't yet replaced it. Like so many other films, I watch them on cable -- which, as Better-half points out, is stupid because I have them on DVD.
But now that I've lost TCM, I'll be pulling it off the shelf more often. Once I replace the shelves...

Me! Me! Me! This was one of the best movies ever made. The dialogue and the interaction between the characters was spot on. I love this movie!

I concur!
Whenever I hear someone say they don't care for Kate Hepburn, I know they never saw this performance.

I was never a big fan of hers, but she was perfect in this movie. The way she and Peter O'Toole played off each other was amazing. I wish I had the DVD; I would watch this over and over again. It never gets old.

I can't even imagine who would have been better. And I believe it was her idea to get O'Toole involved in the project. It probably saved his life.
