By Love Possessed 1961 Turner, Robards, Zimbalist, jr, Hamilton

Set in 1960's glamor...or what was considered glamour at the time, I really enjoyed this.

My mother's generation seemed consumed with unhappy wives who were alcoholic. This used to be a reason I didn't care to watch movies that featured Judy Garland.  Way too much emoting for me!

But in my opinion, this film really explores the concept of "love".

There was at least one moment near the end where I could feel myself holding back tears!

Turner always excels in soapers like this one, Portrait in Black, Madame X,  Imitation of Life, Bad and the Beautiful, and her earlier Postman Always Rings Twice. She always looked stunning and glamorous. With the exception of some of Madame X.

Last night they aired Garland in A Child is Waiting, that one was hard to take, very emotional.  Most of the films they air are from 1960 and later, once in a while one from 50's like Trapeze.

What a Sweetie you are !!  Trapeze was OK, for me a little too much time spent performing the act in the circus, I would have liked more of the personal stuff, but again a great cast, must have used a ton of stunt doubles in this one. We got Screen Pix when they removed TCM from Comcast, I think Comcast is the only system that has it.

I never heard of Screen Pix.  I have Verizon, so probably don't have it, but will check.

I love those Lana Turner movies and think her clothes and home in Imitation of Life were the best!

Are there commercials in these movies? I don't watch those channels when I don't have to-there are lots of channels that show movies with no interruptions.
