@I am still oxox

Thank you for posting this - sad to hear about Bob Weir's passing. He was diagnosed with cancer last summer yet performed with his band Dead & Company just three weeks after that diagnosis. A founding member of the legendary rock band The Grateful Dead, he is survived by his wife Natascha and daughters Monet and Chloe. I saw the Dead perform at Giants Stadium in NJ back in the late 1970s - what a crowd there. Also had a little crush on him at that time as he had this cute preppy-hippie look. To quote a line from one of the Dead's most famous songs "Truckin'": "Lately it occurs to me, What a long, strange trip it's been". May he RIP.

@I am still oxox Those were the days of the mega concerts - and seeing the Dead perform was an experience for me as well. And I remember the Nassau Coliseum - saw Prince perform there in 1984 during the "Purple Rain" tour - those were truly the days...

Had many friends who were Dead heads.  I was never one of them, but I did see the Grateful Dead at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City in the mid-70's.  I think I even have a couple of photos that I took with my pocket camera - yes, we were that close to the stage.  It was a general admission concert as I recall.

Bob Weir was definitely part of rock n roll history and for that he will always be remembered.  Sad news when our rock n roll stars leave us, but their music will live on and for the fans that's the most important thing.
