I watched the movie as well and I must say for Andra Day's first acting job she was indeed exceptional!

 

I love Lady Sings the Blues with Diana Ross it opened me up to her music, but Andra Day's portrayal touched me in a very deep way.

 

Billy Holiday died before I was born but her music has continued to touch me as well as her very sad life.

I wish this program would have been on CBS or NBC, etc.  I really wanted to see it.

This movie has a R rating, and could not be shown on regular TV.
