Re: Big Brother fans news!

[ Edited ]

Thanks for all you do, Gardenman!  I don't get the live feeds, but really enjoy reading your daily updates.  I like it better than actually watching, lol!  Big Brother is so much more fun this way, and I check in daily to see what is happening in the Big Brother house.  I enjoy seeing what everyone else posts too.  I've been a loyal fan since the very beginning, but only post on here sometimes.

I'm another one who clicks in every morning with my cup of coffee for all updates.  I love the spoilers, opinions, theories, everything that is discussed on the here, so thank you so much to @gardenman and everybody else who posts!  I can see where there would be an objection to it being the thread title, like "I can't believe Bobbie Sue got voted out tonight" kind of thing, but that's about it.

The issue for some people is the "Next Topic" button. They click that and it brings up the spoiler thread if that's next in line, so they can stumble onto a spoiler. There's not a lot we can do about that. If you just use the "Next Topic" button to navigate the threads you're going to stumble onto spoilers. I don't read every thread, so I hop back to the main page and read selectively, but for those who use the "Next Topic" button, they're going to get annoyed with spoilers. We could use the spoiler box, but a whole thread in spoiler boxes would get annoying for everyone else. Even knowing the spoilers I still enjoy the shows to see how it's all presented. Every BB site spoils everything as it happens, so this is the norm.

There are lots of BB podcasts this year. Jessica, Kemi, and Hannah Claire (Ovi's girlfriend) are hosting one called "Girl, Let's agree to disagree." I like Kemi and Hannah, so I'm giving it a watch, but Jessica annoys me.

Saw the house & all of the ones on the wall will not be on this season. They can't play & look at themselves on the wall. LOL House is fine but we know in a few days they will slop it all up with their clothes. Julie said how many rubber ducks are in the bathroom, forgot to write it down, if they do a counting comp think the rubber ducks maybe a question. Seems they have more mikes in the house but we all know with live feeds we will lose sound, they always have problems (especially in the beginning) with the feeds, you would think after all these years they would have figured it out. East coast will get the show before me (Az time) starts here at 8pm. I will be in here early, hope east coasters will talk about it so I will get an idea before it starts here. Thanks in advance if you do leave comments.

There are some of us in the Pacific time zone that do not want to be updated before the show comes on and I am one of them.  It's very unnerving to see everyone discussing what happened before  we get a chance to actually see the show.   I know I have the choice not to read them but it's not fair to us in the West.  Wish it could be different.  JMO

@GRANNY77

Just don't open the thread until after you've seen the show.  That's what I do.  I don't consider it unfair to us.

Maybe unfair is not the right word.  It's what it is, I guess.  Not blaming anyone.  It's just so tempting to look to see what happened and when I do, it spoils the show and I am so mad at myself.  JMO, no offense.  I'm just glad we have a show to watch this year at all. Love you all!! 😊

I totally understand.  I'm on the east coast, so I'm always very careful about not posting anything anywhere that could be a spoiler - whether it's a reality show, sports event, awards show, etc.  I have had things spoiled for me when I recorded something and hadn't yet had a chance to watch.  And that's always disappointing.

So yes, you can simply not open the thread, but I'm sure it's tempting!  I always prefer to watch shows the way producers and directors intend for them to be watched.  So be strong!  And enjoy BB the way it's meant to be seen!

Looking forward to posting with everyone here!  I've been a big BB fan since the first day of the first season, and have never missed an episode.  (Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it's true!)  :-)

Big Brother is a challenging show to discuss as pretty much everything happens on Thursday (HOH Comp), Friday (nominations), Saturday (POV comp), and Monday (POV ceremony) and the shows are days behind what we see on the live feeds. What we know on Saturday (POV winner) TV only viewers won't know until Wednesday/Thursday. Some people want spoilers, others don't. I always label the threads as a spoiler thread just to warn those who don't want things spoiled, but there's no way to make everyone happy.

For tonight's show I'll start a new thread with Live Show Spoilers in the title that should help anyone avoid the spoilers who wants to avoid them while letting those who want them can still see them.

Great idea.  I was going to suggest a spoiler thread.  I've been on the QVC forums for a long time, but never paid much attention to BB threads, so I wasn't sure how you guys roll once the season gets started.  Sounds like a good solution, and I know it works well on other forums.

What we do starting tomorrow is have a daily thread with the date and the title "8/06/20 Big Brother 22 Live Feed Spoilers and Updates". We've been doing this since season seven (I think) and have adapted things as we go. People like the date upfront, so they know they're reading the current thread. The forum tends to cut off the date if it's on the back of the title page, so we now put it up front.

First thing in the morning I post about what happened over night and recap the previous day, and what's on the agenda in the way of comps or events, then we all add updates as events merit during the day and evening and chat about what's happening. We keep it fun and easy going. If things get a bit heated I'll typically drop in a post saying, "Meanwhile, back in the house," and redirect things away from whatever was causing an issue. We try to keep it fun and friendly.
