I watch this show every week just to get a glimpse of Betty.  The show is just okay but I love the dog and the way Will interacts with her.  I just read she was a rescue in real life.  If they wrote her out of the show I would not be watching.  A man obscessed with a dog is my kind of man.

@chiclet   I, too, watch for the puppy, which is absolutely adorable.  Will is a cutie as well.

I like Betty, but I also like the show and would watch with or without Betty.

I watch it for the story and the acting.  Will Trent is such a complicated and troubled person.  His relationship with Betty is vital in showing us who he is.

Betty is my favorite and she definitely is the star!  I just love that Will adopted her and is a special part of his life!

I started recording the show but have only watched the Pilot, just finished it last night.   Seems interesting, and I'll watch a couple more, to decide.

Anyone know anything about the background of this series?  I think I read it was similar to Monk.  Was it adapted from a book ... or something else?

(What comes to mind is that The Rookie was adapted from a real person who joined the LAPD in middle age.)

He reminds me of Monk.
