Re: Bette Davis "Dark Victory" TCM 4:00 p.m. Eastern Monday

@cimeranrose, how neat that you noticed that quiet, very effective performance of Dana Andrews' father, reading that letter with pride.  It is very moving.  The problem with "Best Years" is that there are so many dazzling performances, it's possible to take the smaller roles for granted, but virtually everyone shines!

@NAES is discerning like you are-- she in turn was just pointing out how terrific both gallant, spunky Harold Russell was, and Virginia Mayo, as the shallow, straying wife of Dana Andrews, was.

Really, the casting on this film was just phenomenal!

@Shelbelle, I love both Elizabeth Montgomery, and the young Anthony Hopkins.  I bet that was good as well....

Dark Victory and Double Indemnity arriving from Netflix tomorrow.  A good weekend to watch these favorites!

For those of you who get DVDs, don't you just love the extras?  I am not sure any extras are featured when a movie is streamed.
