@mousiegirlMy family has survived a lot of sadness and problems over the years.
I come from a large family who long ago learned to over look so many things done to us and by us (even to each other).
When we get together you'd never know who'd had a fit in anger with whom. It all blows over within hours or days. Never for very long.
It's because we understand what devastation anger can do to the soul of another. The nephew I mentioned was so sweet and kind and to this day no one (not even his brother with whom he lived) has any idea why he killed himself.
We do also feel deep sadness for the person who found him like that! It's something they will see for the rest of their lives. No one ever talks about that! It wasn't a Responder. It was someone who was just walking past.
So many lives, so much pain. One thing I've always been told is that if a person is going to kill themselves, if they're really serious about it.....nothing and no one can stop them. You can for a short time, but if they really want to do it, they eventually will.
I cannot imagine being in that much pain.

She was taking very large doses of steroids for a disease she had. She knew enough about medicine she could have been a pharmacist so when she just stopped taking the steroids, she knew her body would shut down and it did. Nothing could be done for her.
The pain never leaves. I lived with her growing up. She was a single mother of 4 at the time. It was like I was the mother and she was the Dad (she was 10 years older than me).
It was a total shock when her son died. He was found outside of a public swiming pool (gun shot).
What a waste.
I can attest to the side effects of Prednisone. Some people become a personality you don’t recognize. Very harmful to the body also. Long term damage.
I’m saddened and sorry for your sister’s and nephew’s
passing.

@mousiegirl wrote:It sounds as if Dennis' death was accidental, using prescription drugs, Narcan to counteract another drug, but passed out and died.
I read Dennis had back surgery awhile ago, and was often in a lot of pain. It would make sense he may have overdosed on a drug prescribed for his back pain. So sad.
